(Somewhat) new: Brody Outfit @ WoE

Ryan forwarded me the review pack from WoE since we both agreed it’s more my style. Pretty much appreciated also. However, I was supposed to write this review when the item was still really new. My Second Life PC died but by now I managed to get things running very crudely on a old laptop. I’m on a pre-Windlight viewer, so the picture lighting is a bit crude sometimes (it’s easier than blaming my horrible photography skills). The outfit I’ll be reviewing is the Brody outfit. It’s for sale at 200 L$.
WoE sells urban clothes for both men and women. If you like baggy pants and graphic shirts it’s a good place to visit on your search for clothes. Did I mention they’re fairly priced as well? Enough about the store, on to the meat of the review.
The outfit contains a pair of baggy pants, two belts, a graphic t shirt and a longsleeve to wear underneath. The shirt uses the jacket layer, the longsleeve is available on undershirt and shirt layer. The prim parts are no-mod but come with a resize script. The clothing parts are no-mod as well, which means you can’t retouch the pants shape.
The textures look natural, with some care taken on most of the seams. I know I get back on seams every single review, but I guess it’s just one of my pet-peeves. The pants sides contain the most visible seams in general, so a quick check I always do is watch those. A pretty common work around was used here by working the forced texture seams into the fabric seams naturally. This way they end up looking pretty good.
In the same picture you can also see the back pocket. The pants come with wear and tear in the front and a snake-like logo on the back pockets. Works well for the streets. If you want to see them before buying, A blue version of the pants (including the belts as well) is available as a freebie in the store. You can also buy the black pants separately for 130 L$.
The included graphic t-shirt uses the jacket layer only. Too bad, because I often like combining t-shirts with jackets. The included longsleeve does use both the undershirt and shirt layer.
The text printed on the shirt is a quote from Albert Einstein, saying “True religion is real living; living with all one’s soul, with all one’s goodness and righteousness” with the small addition of “live life” following the quote.
The texture itself looks pretty good. It contains just enough shading for me to enjoy it. The specks and spots over the shirt give it a somewhat vintage look. It can be bought separately in a variety of colours as well, for 60 L$.
The only prim part in this outfit is the belt, available in two versions. One with the metal parts in gold, the other in silver. The belt is no-mod, but includes a resizing script. It can both resize separate prims and the whole linkset, so it does mostly everything you need it to do. I have to say, for detailed resizing I still prefer the mod-ability and edit tools. For a quick resize to fit the scripts work great however.
Overall I like the outfit, and I’ve been wearing it non-stop for several days now. Some more options would have been great – like moddable pants and shirt + underpants layer t-shirt. For the cost of this outfit, the current package is already fine though.
You can find the outfit at the following SLUrl. It costs 200 L$ all in.
