Ringing in the new year

Before we return to the Showcase of Sweaters, as indeed soon we must, there’s one other very fine formal suit I want to share with you. After all, if you’re keeping up with this blog in real time, you still have time to go shopping for that perfect something for your New Year’s Eve festivities. It’s not too late! Ric Dulce’s “Douglas” Formal Tux is a fine piece of clothing design at a price that seems, quite simply, too good to be true. Well, it does appear to be a “promo” price of some kind, so while it may actually be too good to be true, I suspect it is too good to last. Consider yourself forewarned.
“Douglas” is a complete formal ensemble, with generously flexible wear options and accessories that aren’t always a part of other suits, fine though they may be. The jacket can be worn open or closed, and as both are included you can choose to wear either the vest or the waistcoat, which is quite possibly even dressier. The two are, quite properly, detailed differently in back (vest, waistcoat).
Although the jacket itself has no prim components, the shirt has a handsome collar with sculpted bow tie. The trousers have sculpted cuffs—perhaps a bit slouchier than some might prefer for formal dress, but well done just the same. There’s also a color-coordinated boutonnière, for especially festive occasions, and a pair of sculpted dress shoes. The shoes’ pebbled leather texture is neither shiny nor glossy, so they aren’t truly formal, but even so they’re fine shoes. You can always accessorize with another, more formal pair from your wardrobe.
All the fabric texture work is first-rate—smooth and realistic. The sheen of the satin accents on the jacket is especially impressive. Although they aren’t shown here, the set also includes vest, waistcoat, and bow tie in coordinating holiday-print fabric.
In addition to Douglas, accented with green tones as you see here, you can also choose from Charles (blue), Christopher (red), and Kevin (purple). Very reasonably priced at L$300 each in-store at Crickets (Dazzled Island 157, 65, 34), or—remember?—currently just L$99 each on SL Marketplace. I’m not sure how long this promotional price will last, so my advice to you is: Don’t dawdle!
