Retrology Easter Hunt

To sum this post up in a few words, the Retrology Hunt was very awesome. Mad props go to Jhuzen Ketsugo for setting it up AND for putting out so many male gifts. For those of you who haven’t visited, the hunt ends today so hurry yourselves over there. The eggs are small and not the easiest to find, but they’re totally worth the effort. And yes, I know I’m lame because I took so long telling y’all about it, and I am sorry about that.
To the right is one of the gifts from Thimbles Emporium, the E Street Hoodie in Bobby Blue Green. Thimbles offered (I believe) a single male egg, or at least I only found one. My hint is to look up :P. The egg also had a Jim Jones cardigan sweater in cranberry Kool-aid and a “das Plaidinator” flannel shirt. Besides having quirky and fun names these items are quite well done, featuring impressive texture work for their modest price (75L normally).
Tinker Hax from Amplify came through again with yet another gift egg for Retrology. The shirt she had available in her store was in there along with the zipped jacket covered in yellow paint that I’m wearing to the left. After double checking, the zipped top was actually in her Grid Wide hut egg too but I just was blind and didn’t see it. Like her other stuff, the jacket is clean (in that paint-splattered kinda way) and simple — very well done. The jackets are normally priced at 100L for a pack of three colors, which is a a very reasonably price. For the record, Tinker Hax deserves three cookies, since she’s been in three posts in a row about freebies here.
I’ll take a moment to mention that I unfortunately didn’t find any Easter pants. Sure.. jeans with an egg switched aren’t em aren’t manly.. but perhaps an angry rabbit on em? I think I’ve seen those in RL somewhere… anyway.. for most of these shots I’m wearing a pair of unisex jeans from Dutch Touch’s subscribomatic vendor. Its probably still in the history. Iki Ikarus, if it weren’t for you, I would wander the grid pantsless and sad. So thank you
The number to the left was one of the easiest eggs in hunt, available smack dab in the middle of the 1-800-Betty’s store at Retrology. Honestly, I had thought that store catered to females only. You learn something new every day. Just make sure you get the guys gift cuz the girls one is right next to it. The Charcoal Retro Jazz suit is a full closed suit set. The undershirt, shirt, and jacket layers are used for a shirt, tie, and jacket respectively. The bottom of the jacket is aviable only as a prim or skirt, which I don’t like but its a really a preference thing (I’d like having the option to have a full jacket on the jacket layer, and make the prim/skirt bottom an optional one). However, the bottom is placed well and integrates well with the rest of the suit either way. I’m wearing the skirt for convenience, but the prim one looked very similar. Also included are prim cuffs, with optional (thankfully) bling. I’m also wearing the Peter hair from Biedermanns Quality Hair. The store offers one free style in one color to newbs under 30 days old by way of voucher.
Last, but most definitely not least are the many many many gifts from Hang the DJ. I’m not sure, but I think over half the stuff in the store were available as gifts. I am sure, however, that there were eggs for guys available throughout the sim, in addition to an amusing freebie easter shirt available in the actual store. I’d usually say something about the texture work right now, but that isn’t the part I like so much about these gifts. They’re amazingly complete. Every single shirt is given both as a jacket and a shirt+ underwear combination, allowing you to wear it tucked and untucked. Not only that, the shirt+underwear option lets you wear them under other items (such as the jacket from the D-suit) and not have your belly button show. As for the texturing, its nothing special, but my no means poor. Kudos for Jhuzen Ketsugo for offering them as such low prices normally (50L/shirt at most with quite a few styles in 50L 3-packs).
Why are you still reading this? Head over to Retrology now!
