One year old today

You may or may not have noticed, but Men’s Second Style is one year old today! At the beginning, this blog was called The Second Man (hence our domain name), but along the way we’ve come under the umbrella of Second Style Magazine, and so the name change. You can look back at Nick’s very first welcome post here, and if you like you can scroll back through some of our early efforts to bring designers of men’s fashion to your attention. I think we’ve come a long way–there’s certainly a lot of water gone under the bridge!–and I hope you feel that we’ve become a useful resource for guys in search of what to wear in SL.
Here’s to a second year that’s as much fun as the first. I’d love to see the blog go in some exciting new directions, so if you have ideas–let us know! And remember…even better than a great idea is a commitment to help make it happen.

I remember how glad I was when I found Second Man. I was getting so frustrated with the lack of clothes. Thats the best thing about this blog, not only has it brought out designers that make men’s fashions, but its encouraged some that didn’t to give it a shot and more SL male citizens to not be afraid of taking off the Linden uniform. Bless you Ryan! Here’s to year two! ^^

Congratumatayshuns on the 1st anniversary! I won’t say I was blind to men’s fashion prior to this blog, but I will say that this blog has helped me, and I’m sure many others, discover new designers that we wouldn’t normally encounter in our daily routine of cruising around SecondLife. I didn’t come to the realization that a blog like this existed until the co-op with Second Style because I was informed about this blog from a female friend who was a Second Style blog/mag reader. But once I saw the great things happening here I couldn’t help myself and got hooked. I’m sure to remain hooked on fashion through year 2 as well, but to what capacity remains to be seen… *puts up a glass to Takeshi comment* and here’s to year two.

None of this would be here at all if it hadn’t been for Nick Shaftoe seeing the need and kicking it off. He gave me a chance to try my hand at writing here, and it’s been fun ever since. Many thanks to Celebrity Trollop at Second Style for all her support–past, present and future. Also to my partner in crime Grazia Horwitz, blogger extraordinaire at Second Style Fashionista, who helps keep me focused and reminds me to take a break once in a while.

What an accomplishment. One year of bringing premier male fashion content to the readership. As the men’s fashion industry has grown so has this blog, and it’s refreshing to see more writers with varied tastes bringing their unique perspectives to Men’s Second Style.
Ryan, kudos to you especially for keeping the gears turning. You are the quintessential gentleman.
