Ninja Scout @ Groll Inn

July 12th, 2008 at 05:30pm Mr. Oh

one.jpgThere is no ‘try.’ There is no ‘do.’

Do not run silently, become silence. Do not blend into the darkness, you are the night, cloaked in the soft darkness of rich, soft, supple cloth. There is no thought. It is by instinct that your opponent’s blade either sings past you or is guided to armored attachments: your strong shoulderpads or the hand and forarm protectors. These bear few gashes; for all the dozens of foes, not many were that worthy.

The belt and bandanas on your upper arms, they are tied tight. Tight enough that they bite, the way that the scent of your quarry assaults your nostrils. Your scarf, headband and mask envelope you as does duty itself. It is right that you are here. And you will not need to be here for long.

Groll Greggan makes a lovely and reasonably-priced Ninja Scout suit for men. For 200L$, you get trousers and shirt, gloves and socks as garments, two.jpgbut also 11 attachments. The headband and scarf are a single attachment; merely click the mouse somewhere near your mouth to wear a mask, covering all but your eyes. Click again to uncover (make the mask piece invisible).

My katana blades are also from Groll, purchased separately. For 96L$, you get two blades in various versions: you can hold one or two in your hands and have one or two empty scabbards at your side or attached to your back. Or you can carry one or two sheathed at your side or on your back. There’s also a stand for displaying them once you have retired and have a home.

three.jpgMy eye attachments are ‘Frameless Sunglasses,’ again from Groll, for only 20L$. Two versions come in the folder, the mirrored ones, which I’m wearing, and transparent shaded ones. I love wearing them; they remind me of Batou from ‘Ghost in the Shell.’

Oh, and I’m also wearing the wonderful Sparrows boots from BroGear.

Visit the Groll Inn & Hideaway main store on Clematis Island (72, 101, 36). Tell Murphy I sent you.

Shortly after I began my Second Life, I discovered roleplaying in a sim called Ravenscraig. I had never had to fabricate a character before, nor outfit it on a noob’s budget. Thankfully for me, I too, found Groll’sInn and Hideaway. This ninja scout outfit was one of the first purchases I ever made, and here we are, almost 10 months later, I still use it. Kudos to them for making it, and kudos to you, Ryan, for covering it it your blog. :-)

*as a sidenote, I realise now that Mr. Oh wrote this, and not Ryan*
