Newish: Red hair @ Aitui

Jesseaitui Petion has been designing hair for some time, and I can now confess that I was more than a little jealous of all the guys I saw wearing his great casual styles.  This is because at first…there was no red.  All the styles were black.  I tried on the demos and sulked.  I hinted once (okay, maybe it wasn’t so subtle, but I swear it was only the one time) that I’d be the first in line if he added reds to his line.

Now, among the other colors, there is red.  I’m not taking credit, just making an observation. 

I’m covering here just a few of his extensive and growing line of hairstyles (coincidentally, these are the ones I personally liked best for myself): “Convincing”, “Last Flight”, “Sway”, and “Wayward.”

“Convincing” has a long fall over the right eye, carefully uneven sides, and some stray spikes here and there, including just a hint of rooster-tail.  I really like Jesse’s new hair textures, which look as though they’re highlighted by the tropical sun, and I’m quite happy with his out-of-the-box red.  All of these styles are enhanced with flexi sections for subtle realistic movement.

“Last Flight” (left) has a nicely grown-out look, with wispy, almost shaggy ends rather than crisply defined strands.  It feels like I’m almost but not quite due for a haircut–I can let it go for another week or so before I need to call my stylist.

“Sway” (right) is neither as intentionally long as “Convincing” nor as grown-out as “Last Flight.”  A combination of clearly defined strands and some wispy ends achieves a look that’s controlled but not at all uptight.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think “Wayward” has kind of a geeky look–in a good way, you know, the nerdy guy who saves the day.  Think Marco on “The 4400.”  The strands lie in tracks that suggest careful and strenuous combing, no doubt in hopes of impressing that new intern who just started last week.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

As I mentioned earlier, these are only a few of the styles available in Jesse’s line, but hopefully this will give you some idea what he’s been up to, just in case you haven’t browsed through the hair section at Aitui recently.

All of Jesse’s hair styles are now available in seven colors: Ash Blond, Dark Brown Highlighted, Golden Brown, Brown, Strawberry Blond, Red, and yes–Black.
