New: Updated wool suits @ Blaze

wool_suit_maple_full.jpgwool_suit_seagreen.jpgBlaze Columbia makes some of the finest dress and formal menswear in Second Life.  Blaze’s Power Suit has been one of my favorites since its release in March.  Surely no man’s wardrobe inventory is complete without at least two suits by Blaze…one in black, and at least one in another color.  Newly released at Blaze Fine Fashions is the classic Wool Suit, now updated with all new fabric textures and sculpted prim pants legs in two different styles: without and without turned cuff.  The suit comes in a wide spectrum of 20 different colors; you see me wearing it here in Maple and Sea Green.

wool_suit_blue_detail.jpgUnsurprisingly, the detailing on this suit is tremendous.  The fabric texture has a subtle sheen that suggests dense, richly woven material, while shiny satin covers the buttons and edges the front slash pockets on the jacket.  Folds and creases appear natural without making you look rumpled or messy.

The debate over skirt-layer extensions for suit jackets may well be an eternal one, at least until SL clothing is re-worked at a fundamental level.  (Imagine if clothing could actually “drape.”  Okay, now come back to reality.)  Blaze has used a skirt-layer extension to add length on the jacket, and I think this works beautifully.  You can also wear the suit without this extension, but you’ll be missing out on some of the detailing.

As I mentioned earlier, sculpted pant legs are included both with a turned cuff (below left) and without (below right).  If prim pants cuffs are not your preference, you’ll be glad to know that the pants themselves are moddable and can be worn quite presentably without the prim cuffs by modding the length to 100.

The prim cuffs themselve are moddable to allow for size adjustment when positioning them on your avatar.  It’s worth taking a few minutes to adjust sizing and placement for the best possible fit, as this may vary from shape to shape, and quite possibly even with different shoes on the same avatar shape.

wool_suit_purple.jpgBlaze’s Wool Suit comes in 20 different colors, ranging from simple and traditional Black through a range of natural colors to brighter tones.  I especially like the Silk Purple suit, shown here.  Each suit includes a white dress shirt and one flexi necktie in a coordinating color.  Suits are available individually for L$400 each, or in packs of “Earth Tones” and “Rich Tones,” ten different colors in each pack for L$2000.  A demo suit is available in the shop for L$1, so you can try on the suit for size and fit before making the ever-so-difficult color decision.  ;)

Available at Blaze Fine Fashions (Blaze 71, 118, 23).
