New: This Week in Men’s Fashion: June 17 – 23, 2007
June 24th, 2007 at 10:50pm Catero Revolution

For those who have been hiding under a rock SL turns 4 years old this week. During all of our careers there have been many ups and downs – n’est-ce pas? – as we all go through our own growing pains in this surreal virtual space.
Within this anniversary week so much is in development or has occurred in the realm of culture relating to the Men’s Second Style blog as well as resident lifestyle in general.
Face of Asia Model Competition. Anyone who can coax those sliders in appearance mode to create a beautiful or handsome Asian shape is encouraged to enter this cultural modeling contest brought to us by the Asian Designers Summit. Contest guidelines can be found at the Women’s Second Style blog or by visiting the Men’s Second Style office, Casa Del Shai, Earthtones Boutique, Muse or Nicky Ree’s Boutique in-world. Face of Asia is open to all residents. Round 1 submissions close June 27, 2007 at midnight SLT.
Nora Body Skins by Sezmra Svarog. Since she teased audiences in mid-April with a sneak peak of her new generation of male skins in development I have been eagerly awaiting the release of her skins. This week, Sezmra displayed a more detailed vision of her skins – each appealing to a different segment of skin consumers: the toned “Hunter” and the svelte “David”. Nora is also offering up some SL4B freebies @ her shop and promises a rehaul of her store and sim.
Second Love Magazine. Tya Fallingbridge and Daphne Molinari announce this week the launch of Second Love Magazine on July 1, 2007. Second Love will be monthly PG publication covering a variety of issues affecting straight and gay residents whether in single, coupled or friendship relationships. The magazine will be accessible in-world and online. The launch party is set for July, 1st @ 7 P.M. SLT game time at Schmooze, Pixel Dreams (12, 146, 21).
As a reminder, if you are aware of any new designers or products that you discover during the week and would like to see included in this segment please look me up and IM me in-world.

bind by Kriss Lehmann
“Scrapper” neko tail (275L)
A promising new designer of fetish wear brings SL consumers several releases this week including this unisex tail geared towards the pugnacious feline. Says Kriss, “I can imagine a Midian city Neko wearing… street smart kitty, but gets in the rough stuff”. The flexi tail, wrapped with bloody gauze and electrical tape, is scripted for movement and emoting via a controlled menu.
[14:07] bind Scrapper whispers: Kriss Lehmann is feeling a bit agitated…
[14:07] bind Scrapper whispers: Kriss Lehmann’s tail settles down.
As a designer he is endeavoring to take the “anonymity” out of plain, standard neko and fetish wear. In coming weeks he plans to take his brand beyond just neko wear and bring fetish/bondage fashion accessories to a wider audience.

Kψoot Army by Saeya Nyanda
Stitches and Wounds (250L) and VooDoo Doll Belt (225L)
Don’t let the store name fool you. Kψoot isn’t filled with warm fuzzies. The store’s offerings are comprised of several scrap yard salvagewear pieces for men and women with an abrasive lifestyle. This week’s releases include stitched up wounds (in the undershirt and underpants layers) and a belt made from rope, leather and snakeskin that will serve well in your chicken blood rituals (notice the VeVe symbol on the doll’s leg – a representation of figures of the astral forces). The detail in the texturing and prim work is really a treat for the eyes. Gift versions are available b y contacting the designer and the possibility of a scripted doll sans the belt looms on the horizon. Saeya is the brain behind the novel and low prim Photosphere that has become a standard photography tool in-world.
Available @ Isla dela Vida (129, 219, 385).

Mhaijik Things by Mhaijik Guillaume
13 ring set (400L) and weekly ‘Grab Bag’ (300L)
Mhaijik turns 13 into a lucky number with a collection of double banded rings with square-cut gems in gold, platinum and aged pewter. It’s a great value for the quality and amount of product offered. As the rings are transferable they can be kept and enjoyed or given away as gifts for special occasions. The designer also announces the introduction of her secretive weekly grab bag. Each grab bag purchase will contain an eclectic mix of 4 of her jewellery and miscellaneous creations known to the buyer only after purchase.

Blaze* by Blaze Columbia
Various dress shirts (80L each or 600L/16-pack) and flexi ties (100L each or 200L-900L/style bundle)
After teasing audiences with a glimpse of what his next release would be, Blaze Columbia rolled out with 16 dress shirts and a prolific 250+ hand drawn flexi ties that have been designed to be compatible with any non-composite jacket (open or closed) that shows the underlying shirt layers. The 11 tie styles offer up almost every colour of the rainbow in traditional solids, stripes and geometric patterns as well as contemporary motifs. Remarkably, colours have been matched with his gowns to coordinate with your date’s attire for more formal occasions. Casa Del Shai by Shai Delacroix
Barong Tagalog (500L each)
With her recent introduction of the breathtaking Filipiniana Collection Shai has not forgotten her male following, bringing us the Barong Tagalog, the Philippine national costume for men. Shai writes beautifully on her blog, “Worn formally in either traditional and mandarin collared styles, the Barong Tagalogs craftwork is presented in three colours; Antique, Ebony and the more common Ivory. The embroidered shirts come with the Camiso De Chino, a simple long sleeved undershirt similar to the Henley and the ubiquitous black dress pants”. I couldn’t put it more aptly. The style and quality speaks for itself and, thankfully, brings a sensitively dignified degree of cultural class and elegance into our virtual lifestyles.

Hey Catero! Thank you very much for the mention, I’d like to point just one thing though for the pricing on hair, the post still has the old pricing (The 1,5,10,15 packs) that all had different pricing.
The new pricing for my hair is 350L and comes with 6 textures there are 4 different options so in total theres 24 textures to choose from.
Before it was 350L for 5, but now its 350L for 6! But due to SL issues and amoungst other things i have chosen to do predyed packs.
Anyways back to this weeks in mens fashion, I’m realling loving the Philotic Energy bag alot! Im going to have to stop by Aemilia’s store tommrow. Noam’s new hair is really intense, I love it! Those boots by Krius are pretty bad ass as well, but yeah got to go, thanks again!

Thanks, side salad!
That male skins face in the Nora ad is really nice, great job! Probably the best eyelids ive seen in SL. (Atleast on male skins, not familiar with the females)

The first skin I bought for myself was a Nora BodySkin. I can’t wait to see Sezmra’s new skin designs for men!
