Today marks the closing day of Hair Fair and most significant is the association with Bandana Day. Residents are encouraged to take their wigs off and replace them with one of the varying bandana styles, colours and patterns that have been created by the Hair Fair showcase designers. All proceeds from bandana sales go to the Locks of Love children’s charity. Stop by the Hair Fair sims (Hermit Heaven and Prim Paradise) and grab one or more of the 50L bandanas at the three display tables provided.

Aitui Tattoo & Piercing by Jesseaitui Petion
Koi Farm (B&W 350L and Colour 375L)

You won’t have to fish for compliments while wearing Aitui’s newest upper body tattoo release. The distinctly articulated line-work features the ornamental Asian brocade carp. The tatau comes in both coloured and black-and-white versions (the latter being 25L less in price). The pecs and biceps churn with multicoloured Koi while the back displays a single, large fish. From the front, emphasis is kept close to the head as the visual impact of the artwork is weighted on the upper chest, close to the face. Petion’s artistic approach stays true to the Asian style of Koi as represented in traditional art - a characteristic which can be particularly seen in the composition of the water waves and modest floral accents.

“Aki”, “Beck” and “Cruise” (300L each)

In a week dedicated to coiffure you really can’t get enough hair. Especially when its as well-designed as that of Stumbelina Ophelia, long known for her unique approach to eye-catching flexi styles. The proprietor of Cake delivered three counter-culture hairstyles this week to an audience of prepped residents hungry for hair. The windswept “Aki”, the spiked surge of “Beck” and the side-tasseled “Cruise” are all great flexi styles that also have a unisex appeal - which is one of the qualities I appreciate about the brand. “Aki” and “Cruise” are offered in 23 colours and “Beck” in 40 - all having a variety of tipped options. Styles possess dramatic lines and strokes that are sure to draw attention. Try on a demo in-store for 0L.

Chicanery by Chicanery Turnbull
Skull Warpaint (350L)

Halloween comes early this year at Chicanery with partially photosourced skin that would make the boogeyman wary of things that go bump in the night. The full body skin has an unusual feature - assymetrical skull face paint. Perfect for the ghoul-at-heart the set includes two versions with regular and smeared paint.

Throw on some bad boy tats, a pair of black leather boots and some long unkempt hair and people will be asking you if you’re Rob Zombie’s little brother (FYI, as pictured right, the release meshes perfectly with Gritty Kitty’s “Ministry” and “Zombie” hair). Turnbull’s store is full of happily dysfunctional items that are sure to coil their way around your twisted little heart (you’ll never look at eggplant the same).

Desert Moon Clothiers by Dragontat Zagato
DMC Cruizers (150L each)

Shoe fetishists are sure to revel in this massive release of shoes for men at Desert Moon Clothiers. Zagato’s low-fit canvas Cruizers come in 21 prolific colours, patterns and style combinations. Basic colours (6), camouflages (4), plaids (3) and retro motifs (8) can be found in the Cruizers product range. The flat sneakers carry all the standard features of 2-ply canvas athletics: pronounced toe encasement, metallic lace rings and thick rubber soles. Two shoe versions are included in each packaged set - one fits foot sizes 0 to 20 and the other sizes 21 to 50. Moshers, skateboarders, punks, preps and geeks will all appreciate the diverse styles offered.

Gritty Kitty by Noam Sprocket
“Ministry” (250L) and “Zombie” (275L)

Massage your hellbilly tendencies with two abrasive hairstyles topped with large-brimmed banded cowboy hats in black. Feeding off the industrial metal and rock influences of Al Jourgensen and Rob Zombie, Noam Sprocket brings us the aptly named “Ministry” and “Zombie” hairstyles.

Ministry has long, thin, straggly hair. Its hat is wrapped with a skull pattered band and bears a large skull medallion. The style comes in 12 colours - four naturals plus eight vivid ones, some of which are tipped duotones.

Zombie has tangled, tendril-like dread(lock)s of varying lengths - some of which are encircled by white rings. The hat has a snakeskin band with a pair of goggles attached which can be toggled on and off by clicking. An additional pair worn on the face has been included in the package.
