New: Sculptie tied hoodie @ :sey

Just a quickie today. Who doesn’t like a quickie? Don’t lie.
OK, this is what happens when I go on vacation. I’d like to blame Express for cluttering up my inventory and hiding things while I’m out of town, but the reality is more like stuff just gets lost in the never-ending shuffle. Before I go any further, I must acknowledge that I picked this up on a tip from Posy, by which I mean that she sent me an excited IM immediately followed by a TP summons, she dragged me to the shop, and she wouldn’t let me leave until I bought one for myself. She further acknowledges that she was tipped off by Donovan, by which I expect she means that he dragged her to the shop and wouldn’t let her leave until she bought one for herself. Although it’s a few weeks old by now, I shall shamelessly call it “new,” because I only just tried it on Thursday evening. That’s my story, I’m sticking with it.
Behold the new (he says shamelessly) “Maki2″ sculpted-prim hoodie by risey Arai. I have to admit that to a certain extent I go back and forth on sculpted clothing–some items I think are fantastic, others I think don’t work so well. Of course the skill of the designer matters greatly, but as amazing as they can be sculpties still have certain technical limitations that leave me wistfully thinking “if only…” More on that later.
risey’s hoodie is beautifully, gracefully sculpted to fit just about perfectly tied loosely around the waist. (In case you’re wondering, yes, I am wearing the “buttless” version of my shape here. It made for much easier fitting and ultimately a better look.) It’s also scripted for easy size adjustment as well as fabric texture change–you can choose from nine different colors.
Both long (as shown here) and short hoodies are included, so you can wear the one that fits your avatar better, the one that matches your mood, or maybe just flip a coin.
Now, what was I going on about earlier? “If only…” something? Here, I’ll just say it: If only sculpties could be flexi. In terms of looking real, with the lumps and bulges and wrinkles and folds of a real garment tied around a real waist, this hoodie can’t be beat. But some similar non-sculpted garments I’ve worn have flexi sections, and even with simpler prim shapes that adds a certain realism that can’t be matched by static prims, no matter now beautifully sculpted. And so I wish for prims that can be both sculptie and flexi, at the same time. I want it all, and I want it now. Is that so wrong?
L$300 at :sey (Isle of Tranquility 160, 111, 29). A free demo is available. You may prefer the camo-pattern hoodie (L$200, choose from four colors). When I bought mine, the vendor was at the front of the shop, on the “NEW” rack, but now you’ll find it toward the back of the shop.
