New: Sculpted loafers @ Shiny Things
September 28th, 2007 at 01:14pm Ryan Darragh
New this week at Shiny Things are the “Tritone” sculpted-prim men’s loafers, by designer Fallingwater Cellardoor. Now, my only beef with Fallingwater (and she knows this, I’m sure) is that I wish she created more shoes and accessories for us men! However, I cannot hold against her the work she does on behalf of the women of SL–those designs are things of beauty and joys to behold, and I’m willing to bet that they fulfill her creatively. Hmm, maybe I should give some more thought to that female avie…if it means I can have more shoes.
Nah, probably not. In any event, right now I’m more than happy, I’m delighted with these casual slip-ons. Sleek, stylish and available in a variety of colors and patterns, they’re perfect for dressing up your favorite jeans or khakis–a great going-out alternative to sneakers or deck shoes.
Apparently not content with two-tones, Fallingwater has upped the ante and used three different tones (or patterns) in each shoe. Hence, no doubt, their name.
Although these weigh in at just ten prims each, their construction is far from simplistic. (For comparison, several of the “traditional” prim shoes in my inventory are made up of 30-60 prims each, with one pair of athletic shoes at 90+ prims per shoe. Hey, let’s all wear those and run around in the same sim until we crash it!) The shape of these loafers is smooth and sophisticated, and the textures are rich and have real depth. Shown here in Olive, the Tritones are also available in six other color combinations, as you see just below: Denim Blue, Brown, Plaid, Autumn, White Leopard, and Black Velvet.
Permission are Copy / No Modify / No Transfer, so the shoes can’t be modified for size. However, small, medium and large sizes are included, so you shouldn’t have any trouble fitting your avatar. Be sure to check out Ben’s recommendations regarding shoe size and fitting–he makes his case eloquently, and I couldn’t agree more!
Fallingwater’s new Tritones loafers for men are priced at L$300 a pair. Demos are available in the shop, so you can try before you buy.
Available at Shiny Things (Shiny Falls 171, 182, 37).
