I know exactly what you're talking about Marcus. I had the same problem with a great shirt that I'll never wear because the skirt layer just didn't work. I much prefer when the designer decides to go past the waistline with their apparel that they use the jacket layer instead of using a skirt layer. I understand that it can be done very well, but when it's done it usually only looks good on that single av in the ad. With all of the varying male shapes in SL, it's near impossible to get a skirted portion to show the extension of a design to be flawless.

Oh and well done Ben...I'm headed to Fim's store in a little bit. I've been on the prowl for a new watch. :-)

Thanks for the help Ryan, Grazia. I think the pics didnt load cause ImageShack doesnt store them that long. This link should work and should show the issue:

http://img180.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snapshot009lz2.jpg

I also tried the Demo for the Blaze suit and it's pretty much the same problem. Actually, the Jacket bug (if I may call it that) happens independent of the Jackets designer with ALL Jacket/Skirt combos.

i also noticed some odd crease/fold in my avatar that i can neither explain nor eliminate, wich makes it rather impossible for me to wear prim ties. Might this have something to do with it ?

I guess i need a doctor for my avie !!! :-)

Hey Ben,

Just a little note from the girls next door. You do look fab in that power suit it was time too that Blaze made something new for you guys. I know for a fact that there are Blaze addicts among the male SL population and they have had hard times with all the gorgeous gowns for us ladies and never new suits for the men, thus being condammed to wearing the same good, trusted but slightly worn old Blaze suits. I love the detailing on these suits. It's stronger than on the older ones Blaze did. And all the shirt and tie options make it versatile and good to wear every day without looking the same all the time. As far as Marcus is concerned, I to have noticed the issue you mention sometimes. Not in Blaze's outfits though, but there is pretty much nothing you can do. Just like us women have to cope with the fat ass syndrome when wearing mesh skirts, I guess this is just another bug that occurs from time to time when wearing something on the skirt layer.
You might try tweaking your shape a bit, not by adjusting your butt but by making your torso a bit longer or shorter, or elongating the hips. Your photos would not load for me, so I'm just guessing from your description that this is the problem. However, You might want to try on a demo that is available and eventually contact Blaze if there is something he can do about it. I've come to know Mr. Columbia as a very kind person who has customer service in his blood.

Since we're talking power suits.... you might want to check the review on Second Style Fashionista that Celebrity did a couple of days ago about the female power suits: http://blog.secondstyle.com/2007/03/give-me-the-business.html

Ciao dears, see you all soon!

Marcus - for some reason I'm not able to see the pictures you linked to, but I think I can imagine just what you're talking about. It sounds like you've tried extensively to fit the jacket and skirt layers differently, in hopes of achieving a more seamless blend at the edges. I'm not sure 100% perfection can be achieved here, no matter how hard we try. Skirt attachments may simply fit the female form better than the male form--does anybody know? I sent Grazia a nudge via e-mail, and I'm hoping she'll comment here and share her wisom. ;)

I've seen and tried on jackets with skirt extensions and prim extensions, and there are pros and cons to both. In general, I think the prim extensions work better for long coats, like the SiniStyle Trenchers and D3volution Russian military overcoats. To me, prim extensions on shorter jackets really seem to stand out and call attention to themselves, and in general I prefer Blaze's approach of using the skirt layer for the extension. I've only had my Power Suit on once, but it looked to me like the jacket/skirt edge was pretty well disguised in the fold shading. I was wearing the forest green suit, which is quite dark, and this may disguise the edges better--I wouldn't be at all surprised if the edges are more visible on the lighter colors, as it seems they tend to be less forgiving.

I'd love to hear from any designers who might like to comment, as I'm sure this is an issue any designer has had to consider and struggle with.

Great post, Ben.

Personally, I never tire of jeans. Then again, I never tire of power. This suit, however, is a great trade-off.

Welcome to the team.
