New: More period menswear @ Analise

cy_rogue_close.jpgIt’s been a little while now since Abby Coalcliff released her first set of period menswear, a generous handful of medieval designs.  Now she has expanded her collection for men with the addition of three new outfits and a few prim belts that are available separately, not just as part of an outfit.  These are all handsome designs, great additions to a collection that hopefully will continue to grow.

cy_rogue_full.jpgThe simple peasant-style outfit shown here is called Cy Rogue.  The set includes a well-worn sleeveless tunic, leather pants, and prim belt and bracers.  You can wear the tunic untucked, as shown, or tucked in.  The pants have prim side laces for that perfect fit, and they’re included on both pants and underwear layer, so you can wear them with shoes or tucked neatly into boots.  The belt’s woven texture matches up nicely with the ties on the bracers.  Both belt and bracers are scripted for size adjustment via touch menu.  Perfect for driving livestock to market, hoisting a pint of mead with your best mates at your favorite tavern, or taking up arms in defense of your hamlet against wicked oppressors.  L$450 for the set.

davidson_kilt.jpgHere I’m wearing Abby’s new Davidson Kilt.  If you’re interested, you can read all I know about kilts, but I’m not going to recap that history here today.  (Yes, I hear the sighs of relief all around.)  I’ve tried on more than a few kilts in my SL days.  Some I liked quite a bit, others I admired more than liked.  Surprisingly, this is one of the very few tartan kilt sets I’ve really liked, and I think that’s because this is one of the few that look and feel like they’re intended for casual everyday wear, and not just dress or formal occasions.  The set includes glitch pants, shirt-layer tunic, high socks, flexi kilt and prim pouch (or sporran).  The pattern-matched glitch pants (shorts, actually) form the top of the kilt and also prevent immodest show-through of your bare ass or thighs; belted and unbelted versions are included.  The tunic has long sleeves and lace-up front closure.  The flexi kilt and prim pouch are moddable for size, but the pouch is already at minimum size, so you won’t be sizing it down via simple stretch.  It fit me pretty well “out of the box,” though, and I’m not a big guy–most of you should need to size it up rather than down.  Available in two different colors for L$175 each.  Note: A vendor in the shop also sells both colors for L$450, but this pricing doesn’t make sense–it costs L$100 more to buy them together than buying both separately.  I sent an inquiry to Abby last night but haven’t heard back yet.  I’ll update this post once I confirm pricing on the pack.

khalil_turquoise_full.jpgFor occasions that call for a dressier look–perhaps an audience with the lord of the manor–consider the Khalil ensemble.  The air of refinement and luxury is clear and distinct.  You get a long shirt with prim collar and cuffs, black pants, tintable shoulder sash and matching slipper-style shoes.  The richly embroidered fabric of the jacket-layer shirt top blends almost seamlessly with the flexi bottom.  Collar and cuffs are decorated with elaborate brocade trim.  A subtle trim of lace provides some contrast on the color-matched slippers and further reinforces your refined standing–clearly you travel exclusively by carriage; no walking in muddy roads for you.  The slippers are actually system shoes and not prim attachments.  I tend to turn my nose up at system shoes, but as close-fitting slippers these work very well and are easily one of the better uses I’ve seen of the system shoe.  Khalil is available in six colors (Turqoise is shown here) for L$450 each, or L$1350 for all six colors.

rugged_belt_black_silver.jpgAbby’s new Rugged belts aren’t necessarily period-specific, and I think they’ll work equally well with middle-ages peasant breeches or contemporary jeans.  They’re attractively finished in your choice of Black or Brown leather.  A rolled whip or coil of rope hangs on the left hip, and a small leather pouch around back promises to help keep small items handy.  Each set is priced at L$100 and includes small, medium and large belts in one leather color, with bone, silver and gold fittings.
