New: “Monsieur” @ Solange!

monsieur_light_jacket.jpgNew at Solange! by Solange Cerveau is “Monsieur,” a sophisticated ensemble perfect for the man looking for something that’s classic yet original, fresh yet not trendy or clichéd.  Shown here in blue, “Monsieur” is also available in Black, Brown, Green, Purple and Red.  The cloth textures are delicately drawn, with strong colors and patterns that give the fabrics a luxurious look and feel that’s reminiscent of fine tapestry.  The set is designed for maximum flexbility and includes two jackets (one light, as shown here, and one dark), pleated corduroy pants, tucked shirt for dressy wear, unbuttoned shirt, and unbuttoned shirt with simple white tee underneath.  A shirt/pants combination, designed to be worn together, gives you a belt with a natural dip and proper shadow shading in front, rather than simply running along the edge of the two garments.  It’s a subtle difference that may not be immediately noticed, but the feel is much more natural than the default high waist and perfectly straight, level (and boring) beltline.

The shirt’s band collar and contrasting buttons with the look of mother-of-pearl give the elaborately patterned shirt a dressy feel, even when worn casually untucked and unbuttoned.  The beautifully textured wide-wale corduroy pants have realistic highlights and look soft to the touch.  Overall, the look is very romantic, very Rive Gauche–just right for a quiet Left Bank evening with someone special.  If you’re lucky, you may meet your very own Julie Delpy and come to a fuller understanding of the essence of love before sunrise.

Solange does really a superb work! Thank you for showing it!

Ryan dear, for me this look is more right bank than left, but as a left-bank Parisian, I probably missed something because of the lack of distance :-D

Ben, you are the expert and would know Paris far better than I! So far, my visit to Paris is still a dream. Someday…
