New: Men’s pea coats @ Back and Forth
You may remember that several weeks back I reviewed some great jackets and jerseys from designer Donmai Frederick of Back and Forth. Since then I’ve kept an eye out for new release or “coming soon” updates, and this week I was rewarded! These beautiful men’s pea coats are just what we need to get through the winter months that loom ahead, chilly and brittle. The set includes coats (worn on the jacket layer) in beige, black, blue, brown, gray and green, as well as a shirt layer intended to be worn under the coat to give it the proper shape. This shirt is also tintable, so you can make it whatever color you like to provide some contrast. Also included are tintable plain and striped flexi scarves in short and long lengths, so you can accessorize to your heart’s content. I love the warm wool fabric texture, and I can almost feel the wide, nubby seams. The big round buttons are a nice touch that give the coat a long, clean line.
The shorter scarf has its tails falling in the front, almost like an ascot, while the longer scarf’s tails fall down the back. In the picture above, I’m wearing the pea coat in green with the short, striped scarf tinted a nice, dark red. At right you see me in the pea coat in blue with the long, plain scarf tinted light brown.
Of course you can wear the coats with no scarf at all, or you can add a scarf, hat, mittens or gloves of your own if it’s very very cold. Here you see the men’s pea coat in brown with no scarf, which will let you take a closer look at the neckline and and wide lapels. The shirt has been tinted a bright red, so it really stands out.
The best news is that these coats are priced at just L$300 for the set! A ladies’ version is available separately. Available at Back and Forth (Metabirds 192, 71, 26). Clothing items are upstairs in the store.
Where can I buy Donmai Frederick designs. I’m very interested in his style pea coats. Where can I shop to get them?

Donmai’s clothing designs are available at his shop, Back and Forth (Metabirds 192, 71, 26). You can use Search inworld to look for the shop, or there is a direct link in the last paragraph of the review (click on the words “Back and Forth” while logged in to Second Life).
What is the proper length for a men’s pea coat?
I’m not sure there’s a “proper” length for a pea coat, but from the image included in this Wikipedia article, it looks like Donmai’s design is pretty faithful to the classic.
