New: Leather and denim @ *G*L*A*M*

Lately I’ve been wondering what Chloris Hathor was up to–I hadn’t seen any new men’s designs from her since the beautiful denim jackets she released in early December. Well, apparently she’s been busy moving her shop into new digs and re-visioning her brand, because Threads By Chlo! has become *G*L*A*M*. Hey–if the girls can be glamorous, why can’t the guys? ;) When I read that she had just released not only some new denim jeans but a couple of leather jackets, I couldn’t wait to get over there and check them out. Man, was I glad I did I’ve been loving Chlo’s jeans ever since I first discovered them, and she’s added four new denim washes to her line: Sea Salt, pictured here (a faded, grungy light wash); Miami (white with palm tree back pocket embroidery); Espresso (a dark black wash); and Coffee, pictured below (a tinged brown wash). Chlo’s denim textures are just beautiful, with a wonderfully soft, pastel/watercolor feel. She also has two new leather jackets, one black with light beige stitching, the other brown with orange stitching. Here I’m wearing the Sea Salt wash jeans with the black leather jacket, which makes for a great casual pairing. The jackets have the same soft coloring and feel as the jeans, so they go together very well.
Here’s a closer look at the black leather jacket with shirt, so you can better make out the great detailing at the hem, cuffs and button collar flaps. The chest zip pockets are an especially nice touch. The jeans include belted and unbelted versions; here I’m wearing the belted style.
The jeans haven’t escaped Chlo’s notice in the Attention To Detail Dept. The back pocket embroidery is fantastic bit of work that adds a lot of interest. I really appreciate it when designers make this extra effort, because it’s well worth it.
The jackets come in two styles, with and without shirt, so you can flash a little skin if you want to. The jackets also include an optional shirt layer (the “puffy helper”) that you can wear to make the jacket look realistically loose, just slightly baggy. Here I’m wearing the brown jacket without shirt and the unbelted jeans in Coffee. I think this is a subtly sexy look that really works. The shirtless jacket also gives you the option of thowing on a tee of your own to wear under, so the choice is yours.
The leather texture and detailing on the back of the jackets is no less impressive. The leather looks comfortably soft and broken in, but not worn through or scuffed.
These leather jackets are priced at L$115 each and include two styles, with and without shirt. Jeans are also priced at L$115 and include both belted and unbelted styles.
Chlo also has available a few other new items, including a trio of wristwatches (not pictured) in white, black and brown with crocodile impression leather bands, priced at L$75 each.
Available now at *G*L*A*M* Fine Denim & Clothing (Usher 62, 166, 25). Men’s clothing can be found upstairs in the store.
