New: Leather accessories @ Studio Sidhe

I was unfamiliar with the creative work of designer Faery Sola until recently. Mea culpa, but I grant myself dispensation as she has only just produced her first creations with men in mind. Her first release was a set of leather wrist cuffs, embellished with an eleborate Celtic knot design worked into the leather. These were so well received that Faery followed up with a collection of coordinating leather belts that feature two metalwork options and a variety of decorative accents.
The wrist cuff (L$100 each) comes in Black, Brown, Red and Tan. (Brown is shown here, with Red in closer view below.) The cuff, worn on the right wrist by default, is made of thick leather, its two silver-buckled straps embossed with Book of Kells-inspired artwork. The knotwork design is similar to a much-loved silver ring I bought in Dublin and wear every day in RL.
The belts also come in Black, Brown, Red and Tan, but the options don’t stop there. Belts with silver buckles come in a pack (L$175) that includes three belts in a single color with different decorative silver and leather prim detailing–the vertical elements on the three belts are a different mix of silver bars and worked leather strips. This prim detailing makes resizing the belts more than a trivial matter, as the decorative prims will not remain “attached” to the belt strap when you resize it to fit. However, the process is straightforward, there are only a few prims to re-align, and Faery has helpfully included a notecard with detailed instructions on how to resize the belts properly. You can (and should) make a backup copy of your belt before modifying it, just in case…because things happen in SL.
Another belt style, available in the same leather colors, has bronze buckle and Celtic knotwork detail. This is a beautiful combination, especially on the brown leather, and my personal favorite. If I’m lucky, Faery may decide to put bronze buckles on the cuffs too!
The belts with bronze metalwork are available as singles for L$125 each; there are no variations as with the silver-buckled belts. Although it may be difficult to make out in these pictures, all of these pieces are thoughtfully constructed with a slight taper (inward toward the wrist on the cuff, inward toward the top on the belt) that helps to reduce the unavoidable gap that results when fitting cylindrical items to your non-cylindrical avatar.
All items available at Studio Sidhe (Stadtrand 29, 237, 22). I look forward to seeing Faery’s next designs for men–she’s going to be one to watch.

I’d just like to say thank you; to Ryan for his wonderful review, to Rob for his lovely comment and to all the men in SL who have welcomed, supported and given me such brilliant feedback and encouragement; you have definitely ensured that my first foray into the mens fashion world will not be my last *winks*, PLUS it was heaps of fun!!! Thanks boys :o)

Fae is helpful beyond the call of duty with refitting and resizing. I’m a newbie so new she had to walk me through the most basic stuff.
Fae was friendly, understanding and patient through the whole nasty business. About my only possible quibble is that it may be a good idea to provide left and right versions of her cuff.
I look forward to the men’s clothes she’s planning for the near future.

Fae, these are totally unbelievable. I’ve got items like this in RL that aren’t nearly as well made…
Wow!
