laceup_brown.jpgHave you ever noticed how the International Male catalog just follows you around?  I mean, once you’re on the mailing list–and who knows how that happens in the first place?–it’s for life.  You can move and leave no forwarding address, but it’ll find you.  It’s always just there, waiting in the mailbox.  Or, hmm, maybe that’s just me.  These slick new lace-up shirts by Jesseaitui Petion of Renown feel to me like upscale re-interpretations of one of those ”classic” IM designs (undoubtedly called something awful like “Pirate Shirt”) that you might look at in the catalog but never order, or order but never wear, or wear but wonder if you’re really pulling it off.  If you say these are a bit of a leap for most guys, I’d agree, but I’d argue that they’re one worth making.  They’re beautifully textured, have a great, slinky fit, and have already earned me some compliments.

laceup_red.jpgThese shirts are available in red, brown and black and come with optional flexi ties you can wear, if you’re not afraid, to take the look right to (or perhaps over) the top.  The flexi ties conflict with the usual attachment point for necklaces, which wasn’t really a problem for me as it seemed that adding a necklace to this shirt really would be just too much.  Jesse describes these as dress shirts, but I think they work equally well worn casually with jeans.

Snarky humor at International Male’s expense aside, these shirts are fantastic.  Take a chance and give them a try.  And really, if you look like a page from the International Male catalog, is that really so bad?  Really?  ;)

    I actually have never heard of International Male (Sad? lol Oh well), though I`m certaintly not saying I came up with the design myself. It was inspired by a shirt I own in SL.

    I guess that`s how a lot of good designs are birthed- inspiration.
