New: JoJO @ LBD

complete.jpgLeeZu Baxter has started making men’s clothes; this is good news. Among the pieces at her new island, To The Nines, you’ll find this complete outfit, called JoJO. It’s a luxurious affair, with the broad pinstripes on the trousers matched by bands of stripes and ribs on the coat, including on the magnificently tall stand-up prim collar. (As usual, click on any of the photos to see a larger version.)
The long coat is formed with one of those flexiprims that attaches from the chest. If you’ve followed conversations in the comments to Express’s articles, you’ll know that some of us have trouble with getting these to fit. I approached with some caution, but LeeZu helped by offering to wear my ’shape’ and try it on. I had no problem at all with JoJO — it worked right out of the box.The seams are high enough and dark enough that they’re not noticable. And critically, there are no zips or edges on the front that need to line up exactly. I did find the flexiprim a bit too light for my taste and was able to easily select each of the three pieces that make it up and increase the gravity of them to my liking.

shortJacket.jpgYou can also wear the jacket short. I love the prim baggy sleeves. They’re a real joy in either mode, shaped beautifully and again, for me, no adjustment necessary. This photo makes it easier to see the cut of the open jacket and the black shirt underneath (combined with the jacket top on the jacket-layer). The neck is open wide enough that you’ll want to wear some jewelry, but that’s a bit difficult with the longer coat — the collar is worn on the spine and the long coat is on the chest rather than pelvis, leaving you nowhere good to attach a necklace (unless you stand very straight and still…). With just the shorter jacket, you could attach to the chest.

trousers.jpgI’m partial to striped trousers and these are nice ones with widely spaced and well pronounced stripes. There’s a brown photo-sourced belt that you won’t see most of the time. The trousers aren’t super-low but there is a gap between them and shirt-layer only shirts.

LeeZu Baxter Designs can be found at To The Nines (156, 128, 23) where you’ll find JoJO for L$450, available in brown as well as the black version I’m wearing.

Photos taken at the Second Louvre Museum, Tompson (152, 97, 101).
