New: Jewelry, belt by Yukirei Greene
You may recall that I’ve featured some of Yukirei Greene’s beautifully elaborate jewelry and accessory items here before, but with Halloween right around the corner it seems like a good time to highlight a few of her newer pieces. Now, I’m not saying that these are only suitable for Halloween or costumed occasions–no no, not at all! But if you’re going at all goth this year, you might find that these, or some of Yukirei’s other items, fit right in.
The three pieces I’m presenting here today are the Hand Scull Belt, the Scale Nail Necklace, and the Scull Which Tears Mask Ring. (All are shown in more detail below.) The Hand Scull Belt (L$250) is made of glossy black leather and is studded with metal rings in a complex chain formation that runs the belt’s full length.
Intriguingly, the front “buckle” decoration is not linked to the belt itself and is worn as a separate attachment. This allows the belt to be worn with or without the showy front piece, which depicts a laughing skull with skeletal hands grasping at a golden cross, a crescent moon shining in the sky. The belt is moddable for size, so you can resize it as desired to fit. As with any complex prim object (and these are highly primtastic, make no mistake), simple stretching up or down is your only real option–editing the linked parts individually, a real temptation with belts, is likely to end in tragedy with an item this complex (or maybe I’m just a klutz). I found that I was able to get the belt to fit as well as belts usually do, by which I mean comfortably close but not perfect. As the belt and decorative buckle are two unlinked pieces, you’ll need to resize and reposition them individually.
The Scale Nail Necklace (L$170) suspends a shiny silver ingot from a delicately wrought chain that flows naturally around and down your neck. A gleaming onyx stone is held securely (or is it entrapped?) by sharp nails or claws, surrounded by a field of incised starburst elements, and the designer’s name is embossed below.  You can see this piece in more detail here.
Maybe it’s just me, but the Scull Which Tears Mask Ring (L$150) seems to suggest a fascinating variation on the Comedy/Tragedy masks associated with the theater. Here, a skeletal hand is ripping away the smooth, blank mask to reveal the skull beneath. The dark, shiny metal highlights the beauty of the tiny, detailed primwork.
Permissions for these items are Modify / No Copy / Transfer. All are available at Yukirei Accessories Shop (Plush Rho 141, 48, 21). Be sure to browse through the new men’s section in Yukirei’s recently expanded shop, now more than twice its original size. You’ll find an extensive selection of pieces for men, including rings, necklaces, belts, wallet chains, and earrings.
Is that the 200+ prim belt you spoke of before Ryan?
If I recall correctly, the first belt of Yukirei’s I covered here (link to post is in this article) clocked in at 234 prims. I don’t remember the exact prim count on this one, but it was high, although I think not as high as the first one. I would guess chances are good that you won’t be able to rez it on the ground to show it off–you’ll have to wear it.
