New: Hawaiian shirts @ Artilleri

A few days ago I decided that I was past due for a trip to Artilleri. I hadn’t been there in a while, and I was wondering what designer Anonia Marat might have been up to lately. It was a worthwhile stop as right up front I found her new Nohea Shirts! I’m a big proponent of Hawaiian shirts in RL, though I usually go more for non-floral patterns as they tend to be less garish. These are somewhat different in that the classic orchid print is actually quite subtle–the colors seem be more carefully tinted than brightly painted. Also included is a black-and-white version of the shirt (pictured here).
A duotone Hawaiian shirt might seem at first thought to be an odd choice, and I admit that I was surprised to see how well it really does work. I think it’s an unusual and at least somewhat daring design choice that pays off in a look you won’t see absolutely everwhere. These shirts have the same great casual styling as some I brought back with me from Maui–small notched collar, deep vee neck, coordinating buttons, and long tails. They are of course worn on the jacket layer for length. If you’re even wondering why no shirt-layer option is provided, so you can wear it tucked in…I don’t want to hear about it.
Your Fashion Tip of the Day - These are perfect for the luau-themed Date-A-Designer auction event this Saturday. (All proceeds will go to benefit SL Relay For Life.) I’ll make you a deal–I promise not to wear mine unless no one else does!
The Nohea shirts are priced at L$180 for the set, which includes shirts in subtle color and striking black-and-white, as shown.
Avaiable at Artilleri (Axel 200, 190, 703).

Ah, Aloha wear. Very popular here in hawaii, of course. lol
We have “Aloha Fridays” where many companies allow their employees to dress in an aloha wear top for work rather than their regular uniform.
Its funny, theres SO many fabric choices. We have quite a few fabric shops here which just are filled with crowded rows of tropical themed fabric….. yet they all are different. Considering theres not much variety (youre working with a few flowers and some shapes)..amazing how they manage to pull off different designs.
Always good to see some well-made polynesian stuff in SL.
