New: Gecko jewelry @ Mhaijik Things

gecko_rings.jpgIt will come as no surprise to regular readers that I’m a big fan of Mhaijik Guillaume’s jewelry designs.  I’m a little behind the curve, as some of these pieces were released a while back, but the others are all brand new, so maybe it all evens out in the end.  A few weeks ago, with very little fanfare, Mhaijik put out these gorgeous gold and silver men’s rings.  The design is simple and classic–just a wide, shiny band of precious metal to adorn your finger.  Each ring is decorated with one of three different designs depicting a gecko.  (The same artwork can be seen screened on the rock slab in the accompanying picture.)  I don’t know why, but geckos make me smile.  Maybe it’s because they remind me of a trip to Maui several years back–the little guys are everywhere, and who doesn’t like to be reminded of a vacation trip?  Or maybe it’s because of those silly Taco Bell commercials.  You remember the ones I’m talking about,  the ones that tied in with the “Godzilla” movie release, where that little chihuahua set a box trap for Godzilla and said, “Here, leezard leezard leezard” to lure him in.  Hey, I laughed.  Maybe I’m the only one.

gecko_bracelet_ring.jpgSo, not only are the rings beautiful, but they make me smile.  How does it  get better than that?  Well, now Mhaijik has added to her “Gecko Collection” a necklace and bracelet.  Decorated with the same striking artwork, the bracelet is constructed of eight small beveled ingots linked by small rings.  The bracelet comes in small and large sizes, but either is moddable so you can adjust for the best fit.  Like all of Mhaijik’s designs for men it is beautiful yet still very masculine–really a striking piece.

gecko_necklace.jpgThe necklace features a single decorated ingot strung on a matching chain.  As always, I found that all of these jewelry items required only minimal, simple adjustments to arrive at a fit I liked.  Mhaijik mentioned to me once that she always tries to adjust fit and placement very carefully on a “medium” or average avatar before putting jewelry items out for sale.  I think this extra effort pays off in convenience for her customers.

Rings are priced at just L$50 each; bracelets and necklaces are available or L$250 each.  All are available in gold and silver finishes.  The bracelet is also available without the gecko artwork  in a variety of other finishes.

Available at Mhaijik Things (Pheosia 56, 227, 152).

[...] may remember designer Mhaijik Guillaume’s Gecko Collection of men’s jewelry from some time back.  (If not, now is a fine time to take a look.)  [...]
