New: Flare Oxfords @ Shiny Things

Hot on the heels (ooh, sorry!) of her Flare Oxfords for women, designer Fallingwater Cellardoor has released a version for us guys!  With a chunky flared sole and heel, flexi ribbon laces, and attitude to spare, the Men’s Flare Oxford Shoes are perfect for wearing with your funkier stuff or funking up your more conventional clothes.

The construction is quality from toe to heel–check out the natural-looking laces and the shiny grommets, including the ones on the side air vents (nobody wants sweaty feet, after all, and even 100% cotton socks only go so far).  You see them here in classic black, because black is the new black.

These shoes come in seven colors: black, blue, gray, brown, red, glitter silver, and glitter black.  It was impossible for me not to try one of the glitter colors, so here they are in glitter silver.  I don’t know Fallingwater’s trick, but the glitter is very effective–it actually looks sparkly.  This isn’t exactly a “Saturday Night Fever” look, but it definitely says that you are Dressed Up To Go Out.  If the glitter isn’t your thing…first, well, too bad for you, but more for me.  ;)  And second, the “regular” colors are awesome even without glitter, deep and rich with bright highlights.

Each pair of shoes includes Small, Medium, Large, and Extra-Large sizes along with an explanatory notecard that outlines which shoe size works with which foot slider settings.  This is a thoughtful extra touch that I really appreciate–it lets the shoes be chunky (as they should) without looking huge, and you’ll never have to to resize your feet to fit the shoes!

The Men’s Flare Oxford Shoes are priced at L$300 a pair, or you can buy the megapack with all seven colors for L$1575.
