New: Casual shoes @ SF Design

Today’s your lucky day–I’ve got not just one but two, count ‘em two new casual footwear styles for you, both from Swaffette Firefly of SF Design. Here you see the Terra Sandals, a solid interpretation of familiar rubber sole, nylon canvas strap sandals. I have no idea what high-tech magic goes into building the carbonized rubber soles (or whatever they are) in RL, but the Terra soles look just like ‘em. They’re thick and a little chunky, with a bit of a lift from toe to heel and an interesting wavy division between the lighter and darker, top and bottom layers of the sole.
The webbed canvas straps are realistically detailed with a decorative weave, visible stitching and an outside slide buckle. These are available in both large, for foot size up to 35, and small, for foot size zero. I found that my feet looked pretty good in these with the slider set at 25–much more and they began to look too big for the sandal soles (your mileage may vary). You’ll find these in the men’s section, but there’s no reason the smaller size won’t work for the ladies. I have some great leather sandals that dress up well and some flip-flops that I like for beach outings, but this is the first sandal I’ve seen in this design. The casual styling really works for me, and the realistic texture work holds up well under close inspection. The Terra Sandals are priced at L$180 for either the large or small size–make sure you’re buying the size that’s right for you!

Swaffette’s new Classip Slip Ons are Vans-style shoes with a twist–they’re touch scripted to provide six different textures via menu: blue canvas, grey canvas, red canvas, black canvas, skulls, and flames. Hey, none of my RL shoes do that! Why not? It’s the 21st Century! *sigh* Unlike some other similar shoes I’ve looked at, these aren’t oversized and puffy-looking, the result being that you look like you’re wearing lifeboats on your feet, but rather slim and trim. Look closely and you’ll notice tiny SFD logo tags near the side elastic insets. The price on these is L$200, very reasonable when you consider that you’re getting six different looks all in one pair of shoes.
Both styles are available now at SF Design (Innisfree 192, 54, 537).

I’m usually more of a boot guy but when I saw these sandals, I had to get them. I go to beach events semi-regularly and I only had one one pair of sandals that my feet poke through (and that’s with small, for a guy, feet). Every time I wear them I cringe at the sizing issues so I was happy to see some well made sandals out there. I wore them to the last beach event I went to and all was well with the world.
If you’re looking for a good pair of versatile men’s sandals, this is the pair to get.
On another note, I just found this blog and couldn’t be more pleased to see that there is some SL fashion blogging for men. Thanks, Ryan!

To be completely honest the shoes aren’t my style and kinda remind me of elementary school, BUT the clothing notes took me to Indigo and I bought a couple of pairs of jeans (L$100 a piece) + a shirt & jacket combo (L$90). The jeans have 4 styles (full length & cuffed to just-under-the-knee short, with and without black belt in 1 shade/color), a total steal for the price. So hop on your denim horses and get to Indigo. TY for the new clothing find Ryan.

I’ve previously covered a few of Chloris Hathor’s clothing designs for men, back when her shop was Threads By Chlo! and then GLAM, before she spun the men’s line off as Indigo. I love her softly colored fabric textures and the way they work so well with her comfortable casual designs. The shorts were new to me–I seem to have missed an episode or two–and it seemed a natural to pair them with these new shoes. Take a look around for the solid-color canvas shorts too. When I was there a few days ago, the packs of shorts were discounted as part of a sale.

If possible, please provide me the company’s name & address, and the telephone number, where Eros Soles (for the feet) may be purchased. Thank you.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to make Men’s Second Style a resource for RL designs or designers. I’m not famililar with Eros Soles and don’t have any information on the company.
