New: Button-down shirts @ Nylon Outfitters

New at Nylon Outfitters from designer Nylon Pinkney is this set of Button Down Stripe Shirts.  Although quite different, these strike me as companions of a sort to Mathfew Alonzo’s short-sleeve shirts from Savvy Avvy.  These too are perfect summer shirts, and although also striped these have long sleeves, brighter colors and perhaps something of a Seventies vibe with the spread collar and slinky fit.  You could get away with wearing these to a disco revival party, but why wait for a special occasion?  Throw one on with your favorite dark jeans or slacks and enjoy today.

These shirts come in the three colors you see here:  Green, Pink and Yellow.  None of the colors are timid in the least.  The shirts are provided only on the jacket layer, so they can only be worn untucked.  At first this kind of made me go hmmm, but then I thought about it and realized that I rarely if ever wear shirts like this tucked in, and in any case the square tail on these looks quite tidy.  For myself, I don’t see this as a big concern.  Your mileage may vary.

In addition to wrinkle/fold and shadow shading, the fabric texture itself has a kind of pebbled look that struck me as somewhat unusual.  This makes for another level of interest during up-close inspection.
