New: “Broder” hair @ The Good Life
![]()
Not too long ago I wore designer Avant Scofield’s ”Delinquent” hair in another post (sure, go ahead and take a look now). I was pretty impressed by the style and regretted that I wasn’t giving it more specific attention in a review of its own–it just felt so perfect for that layout that I didn’t want to replace it. And I figured there’d be more good stuff to come at Avant’s shop, The Good Life. I was not wrong. Like “Delinquent,” Avant’s new style “Broder” is a beautiful casual style with great hair texture and complex, realistic construction.
With this style perhaps even more so than with “Delinquent,” I’m struck by the almost extravagant use of flexi sections throughout. Not content with a few strands at the ears or in back, Avant has used flexi pieces extensively, not just as an enhancement. The result is a style that’s more lively than I’m used to wearing, but it doesn’t feel at all overdone. Is this what more elaborate women’s hair styles are like? Once again, I feel a twinge of jealousy.
Avant’s hair styles come in twelve two-color packs: Blonds, Sands, Coppers, Pale Browns, Browns, Ashed, Auburns, Blacks, Reds, Blues, Pinks and Whites, priced at L$250 each (demos are available for L$1). Here I’m wearing the darker of the two Reds, which I think is beautifully deep and rich. If you’re feeling indecisive, you can buy a pack of all the colors for L$1500. I might have to go back after the Blonds, too.Â
Available at The Good Life (Good Life 113, 85, 27). The GL features a growing line of skins, hair, clothing and accessories for men and women. Watch your step in the hair department, as there appears to have been…an incident in the back corner.
