New (at one time): Yen by House of RFyre

*sticks head in* Anyone miss me? No? Ah well.
I had to take an unofficial leave of absence, due to actual paying work. (My God! The horror!) Itellya, when I hit the login button and saw my login still there, it brought tears to my eyes. Ryan, thanks for not kicking me to the curb!
Before I left, I had a couple reviews in the pipeline. They aren’t new anymore, but I like them so much I’m reviewing them anyway.
Though the RFyre line, by Raven Pennyfeather, tends to stick to historically-inspired clothing, the Yen series is designed for the space station resident of the future. Half latex, half snakeskin, it’s the perfect clothing for any stainless steel rat living in the ductwork and under the deck plates.
Nearly every inch of skin is covered, yet nothing is left to the imagination. The set includes snakeskin and plain latex pants in regular and boot length, latex undershirt, latex/snakeskin tunic, snakeskin jacket, latex gloves, snakeskin thigh-high stockings (for men and women, hooboy!), and snakeskin boots. Studded black leather belt and cuffs, with flexi straps, complete the outfit. This is a big chunk of wardrobe for the price (L$700). I forwent my usual black for luminous silver, but it also comes in crimson, gold, and noir.
Let’s take a look at the details. The snakeskin positively shimmers, and even better, is matched up perfectly along template seams. The solid metal (or is it liquid metal) plates on the chest break up the design so it doesn’t overwhelm. There are few wrinkles, as this is a practically painted-on outfit, but the few that are there redeem it from looking like a body-paint job. The snakeskin boots are on the shoe layer, but a set of suede-look prim boots go over it for yet another look. In fact, this is at least two separate outfits, and the mix-and-match format gives you the opportunity to make many more. No, it’s not cheap, but for the number and versatility of the pieces, I gladly paid.
RFyre’s main store is located in Isle Rfyre. Shot on location at Valqui Hyperport.
