New: Angel of Death @ Goth1c0

cathedral.jpgGoth1c0 is a store close to my heart, since it’s the first modern goth store I found in SL, and it’s still one of my favorites. Keishii Roo’s newest release in menswear is the complete outfit Angel of Death, including pants and shirt laden with buckles, a prim belt with “half-rotted sarong,” and the crowning point, the tattered and pierced flexi-wings.

While I am a huge (HUGE) fan of buckles, the horizontal positioning of the straps and buckles across the torso inevitably mean that they’ll be pulled out of shape on the avatar. Still, the sheer amount of metal in this outfit (rings! studs! pins! BUCKLES!) makes up for that, in my opinion. The red waffle inserts in the pants set off the small criss-crossing leather straps, and the leather has just the right sheen without being super-shiny or blingy. Especially on the butt (not pictured, ahem.) Some people give good butt highlight, and Keishii’s one of them.

closeup.jpgThe prim belt (with spikes, oh yes), supports the prim sarong, a flexi half-cylinder which drifts gently in the wind. It’s not an obvious part of the outfit, but the subtle movement really adds to the effect. Half-rotted is a great description– it looks translucent, dessicated, like the husk of a cicada.

And then there are the wings.

I’m normally a strictly human avie, but I confess to a slight weakness for wings. Especially these wings, made of dark drama, which ping my goth sense like Morrissey sticking his tongue into Nick Cave’s ear. Flexi, but not scripted, they ripple and billow when I glide. They’re artfully textured, diaphanous and ragged without being jagged, repeating the texture of the sarong. wing2.jpgEach wing section has a multitude of piercings, and is topped with a string of safety pins. These little details rough up the outfit, giving the set a more ominous edge.

The whole set? L$350. I’ve paid more than that for a pair of shoes.

I don’t know where I’m going to wear this. I don’t really care. It’s enough just to lurk about on rooftops and admire myself. (But if you know a place, let me know in comments, okay? Because people I can wear this around are my kind of people.) Goth1c0′s main store is located in Icewater, with numerous smaller storefronts in Gemmed, the Dark Passions Mall in Baileya, the Commando Kitty Mall in Enterprise, the The Block (also in Endicott.)

Max, it’s a great outfit. I had to buy hair especially for it, just to set it off. :)

Thanks, Ben! I agree– I have tons of Keishii’s clothing. It was so great when I first came inworld, finding a store with awesome clothing that I could afford. I went kind of crazy. (I even camped out for freebies, with no afk override. Six hours in a camping chair. I know camping’s wrong, but… I got CLOTHES.)

Okay, quite possibly thee best review I have ever read, although I might be slightly biased. But how often does one get to stumble upon a Morrissey reference in regards to SL – and posted on his birthday no less?! It’s official – Aidan rocks.

But so does this latest Keishii release, wow! That much work and detail and everything for L$350? I want to leave work right now just to run home, log in and make sure I get one before they fly off the shelves.

And Ryan, you should make every signoff with:
