More stuffs with skulls, just because I can

In which Ryan indulges yet again his skull motif fetish. He has yet to admit that he has a problem, but clearly he needs help. Is there a support group? Quick, somebody call an intervention!
Sometimes I’m just not able to restrain myself. Honestly, sometimes it isn’t even my fault, not really. There I am, minding my own business, just shopping, sometimes just browsing, and something with skulls on it just leaps from the vendor and lands in my inventory. I don’t even remember clicking Buy. It’s like it just happens. Well, if I’m going crazy, I figure you may as well come along with me.
As its name suggests, the Skull Romance Polo (L$70) by Drusus Ducasse is something of a two-for-one special. The two-tone grey/white shirt is decorated not just with skulls but with hearts as well. Rather than suggesting Young Cadavers In Love, the artwork here is bold and friendly, almost cartoony, with wide-eyed white skulls-and-crossbones (notice the absence of threatening teeth) and pink Valentine’s Day paper-cutout hearts. The polo comes on the shirt and jacket layers, so you can wear it tucked or untucked (although there’s no underwear-layer extension for tucking into low-rise jeans). The Union 82 Basic Torn Jeans (L$98) by Theodore Ducasse are pretty much barely hanging together, due to copious rips and tears. I also noticed the same exact worn spot that my jeans in RL get from the corner of my wallet, right at the bottom of the back pocket. Polo and jeans are available at Zanzo (Splintered Rock 224, 172, 714).
To this relatively benign ensemble I’ve added HugoZion Kondor’s rather more serious Rock Belt and Bracelets. I think the contrast is interesting and really works. Okay, I know, I know, another primtacular belt (this one’s a weakness, not a fetish, that’s my story and I’m sticking with it), but look at this bad boy–those are prim studs all around, and I love the extra thigh strap. (You also get a simpler version without the extra strap.) Multiple starting sizes are included, but it’s moddable and I didn’t have any trouble sizing down a little more to fit my smaller avie. The matching bracelets come in a set that includes four different styles, some single-strap, some double, with bracelets for right and left arm in each style. Belt (L$270) and bracelets (L$200) are available at JHZ (Serena Marbella 159, 151, 24).
A rockerboy needs some comfy shoes when he’s going to stand up all night at the 80 Eighties Hair Bands in 24 Hours Fundraising Tribute Concert. Posy Trudeau’s new sneakers are simple, cleanly sculpted slip-ons that come in your choice of 12 different designs. I’m wearing the “Poison” Sneaks because, hello, they’ve got skulls on them. Detailing includes contrast stitching, edge piping, and small rubber designer tags in back. Both large and small starting sizes are included, but the shoes are resize scripted for easy fitting. L$150 a pair at Miau Haus (Scout 55, 67, 26). Be sure to check out the collection of “X-Rated” Tees, right next to the sneakers vendors. Okay, they’re not really X-rated, but some of them are a little bit naughty.
And now…bring on the hair bands, point me toward the mosh pit and step safely out of the way! I don’t want anybody to get hurt.

Are you pointing to where your heroin tracks used to be in that 2nd photo? I figure skulls, sex, drugs, and rock & roll all go together right?

You know, I think it’s always been the subtlety that I like so much about Oscar.

Funny, it used to be my rule NOT to buy anything with skulls on it. Just like the rule about never eating in any cafe with a 2dimensional chef sign standing out in front.
But… I freely admit it… I was wrong. That’s a great shirt.

I pounced on that very shirt a couple of weeks back, thinking it was PERFECT for a certain Aussie Fashionisto Vampire of whose blog I am a huge fan…but alas, no transfer. DOH! Well, it’s the thought that counts…right?

Oh, but of course the thought always counts! I can only speak for myself, but that’s why I buy gifts for others that I wouldn’t mind having for myself…just in case.
