Just Starting Out: Part II (Redux)
I take a break for a week and an entire store moves on me. The GNUbie Store decided to up and move from Indigo to Powder Mill. It got a makeover and an upgrade in the process though, so its all good
. Unfortunately, some of the older stuff from the original store is no longer available.I’m guessing that the designers are no longer active and couldn’t move their things. Luckily, all of my old favorites from Rebel Hope, Bryce Tully, and Torrid Midnight are still there though. The best part is that there are new items and new designers — more fun freebies for everyone!
Both Adam ‘n Eve and Fleur are offering skins in their stalls at 1L apiece, with some of them free if you are under 30 days old. I’m wearing the Fleur Vivant Bronze Newbie skin. A word of warning (though you can’t see it here) is that most of these skins come with a clothing under layer as part of the skin. If I weren’t wearing the long sleeves undershirt, the undershirt from the skin would peek out under the sleeves of the the tee. Another GNUbie veteran, Fallingwater Cellardoor, has decided to add her awesome freebie painter shoes (which were already available at Shiny Things) to the GNUbie collection as well.
Noam Sprocket, of Gritty Kitty, and Four Yip, of Yip’s Little Store, are two designers who are new to GNUbie family. Four has her tailored suits hidden amongst her other freebies for 0L. Its a great suit, and a worthy addition to the GNUbie collection for sure. Her other freebies are quite interesting too (textures and furniture, and some outfits for the lady friends) so be sure to take a look for those as well. Noam has put up a few t-shirts, a scarf, a bag, and some hair (or part of some hair
) for us. I’m wearing the scarf, along with his “Gee Thanks T” and the “Scalped” hairstyle in brown. I know winter’s almost over, but I really like Noam’s scarves and was quite pleased to see one available.
Head over and check out the new GNUbie Store at Powder Mill (121,142,34). Remember that there are plenty of spaces yet to be filled, so check back every now and then for new designers and new clothes.
With all the talk of ripped skins how do we know these cheap/free skins with clothing on them are not ripped?
After all people who rip skins get them baked with the clothing layer don’t they?
Sounds suspect.
All of the items at GNUbie come from respected designers. Sachi Vixen and Damen Gorilla, from Adam ‘n Eve, as well as CJ Carnot and Roslin Petion at Fleur, have been making skins for quite a long time. The skins are being provided at low cost to introduce people to the more expensive lines from their respective creators. All of these skins have been sold or given away by their creators at their respective stores in the past — moving them to GNUbie makes them more accessible to a greater audience.
