Jackets and Coats at Muism: Bringing Second Life Closer to High Fashion

January 19th, 2008 at 08:37am Blink Pinion

Muism_Short_Coat_Open.jpgWhy does the environment in which I shop have such a huge impact on my initial reaction to the clothes?  Is it because I want my image to reflect a lifestyle or a culture of handsome beauty and high fashion?  If the setting reflects this, then I feel the essence of what I really desire when I place a nice sweater over my head or slip on a trendy pair of jeans.  I become the style, I become the fashion.

When I rez into the Shopping Street of Muism, I feel an eclectic sense of style.  From the music which, in my limited knowledge describe as a blend of Jazz, Folk and Reggae, to the glare of the lights in the shop windows; I feel as if I have entered a heavenly after life.  The Irony? The Muism is a Korean Shamanism drawing its belief from a blend of Buddhism and Taoism.  This place draws me in and I feel the spirits of high fashion.

Muism_Long_Coat.jpgOne of Muism’s most popular and iconic fashion lines has always been their leather and wool jackets designed by Icemocolo Voom.  The quality and meticulous detail in every layer and every attachment only adds to the high fashion and feel of the Muism landscape.

To start, Muism’s new Long Luxury Wool Coat accompanied with a grey suit as well as blue, white and grey shirts; brings me emotionally onto the sidewalk of Times Square.  I become a New York stock broker lost in the hustle and bustle of the crowded streets.

What I enjoy most about this outfit is the detail of the collar and buttons that run down the front of the Coat.  As part of the design of the shirt it comes with a highly stylish black and white diagonally striped tie that puts the finishing touches on the entire ensemble.

Muism_Short_Coat.jpgWhen I wear the Padded Leather Jacket I can smell the oil and cigarettes from a Harley Davidson Motorcycle who just stopped at a roadway bar for a short game of pool.  After a few shots of Jack, they quickly gather themselves and their women together for another long stretch of highway.

The wrinkles and shine of the jacket bring a stark realism as well as the crease in the leather front breast pockets.  On this piece however, I am most impressed by the details and shine of the buckles and zipper on the collar.  The metal reflects the night sky and will impress any chick on the back of your bike.

Buckle.jpgJackets at Muism range from 500-1200 Ld.

My only negative critique, if you are deterred by attachments that must be adjusted to fit your avatar, Muism may not be for you.  With each article I reviewed, I had to make minor adjustment to help each fit in accordance to my style.  For a beginner or someone not versed in adjusting prims, this may be frustrating.  Muism does provide for sizes of each attachment small, medium, large and extra large. This does aid in the process.  And, once the perfect fit is formed I guarantee you will feel a balance of style and sophistication.

Of course, most in RL don’t understand it, including my wife…but it’s great! Keep checking in for my articles. I promise to keep producing high quality material with a sense of style, which brings the true imagery of Second Life to life!

    hey Blink,
first great to see you at the Muism show – it was a good one. I see you have as much passion for Ice and Migi’s work as I do. Absolutely loving their stuff!!

The street shop has now moved to a new LM, don’t know if it was because I was used to the old shop, but I find the new one too cold and open
