I’d Wear a Mohawk if I Didn’t Already Take Pictures

Crimson Shadow OutfitRL’s been keeping me busy so I’ll try to make this short and sweet. Crimson Shadow has a freebie up till the end of the week. It’s a full outfit: shirts, pants, gloves, belt, bracelet, armband, piercings, socks, and shoes. It kinda speaks for itself. I was having SL issues and a) couldn’t attach my face lamp or b) change sky settings, so I’m sorry the pics are kinda dark.

As a word of warning, the piercings (you can see them after the cut below) attach to the skull. For most people, this means your hair will go poof. The ad art indicates this outfit was meant to worn bald, but I’d rather have a full head of hair since without it.. well.. my head’ll get cold. I used the following little trick to make repositioning the piercing from another attachment point easier. Since the prim parts of the outfit (bracelet, armband, piercing, and shoes) are all copyable, you can first make a copy of the piercing and then attach the original to skull where it wants to be while attaching the copy to another point (I used the left ear). Using this method, you can use the skull attachment as a reference as you adjust the copy into place before reattaching hair (so the former skull attachment poofs).

Exile Gear Hair The hair is a group gift from Exile. Look in the group archives of the group Exile Gear for this Rasmuson special. The style is called Reckless, and is provided (originally) in Mink, as shown above. However, I found the hair tints quite well into reds and blacks (as well as blues, and greens). The example color so the side shows the versatility of this hair.

Oh, and for those of you who want a mohawk, head to the GNUbie store. Zyrra Falcone has two color packs, each 1L.

Pants with Pink ShoesYou might be wondering about the shoes. The magenta boots are NOT the ones from the Crimson Shadow set. The ones in the set weren’t bad at all but I wanted an excuse to wear magenta eyeball boots. Actually, I don’t really need an excuse to wear the eyeball boots, but I wanted one anyway. These fun (and limited edition) boots are from Stomp Lightly, a new store at the Axis Mundi sim. The boots, along with rusty arm bands, art, and an eyeball mushroom, are all available there after joining the Axis Mundi Explorers group. I’d actually advise joining the group before heading there though, since one of the recent group gifts (now in the notice archive) was a small boat, which y’all might find useful while navigating the new canals of the sim.

Unfortunately, I’ve been a bit behind on posting about the Stomp Lightly freebies (they were supposed to be there only for the weekend) so if you’re interested hurry over there and pick them up asap — I’ve bought y’all an extra day or so tops.
