Get coiffed @ Exile

alex_hair.jpgI love hair.

That’s probably not news to you.  After all, you see me here (and inworld, if you happen to bump into me or, hmm, stalk me down) wearing new or at least different hairstyles with frightening regularity.  Oh, sure, I have a few favorites that I keep going back to (*cough* “Nekoge” *cough*), but who doesn’t?  Hey, I’ve been giving “Poynter” a break lately, so give me some credit there.  ;)

It’s been a few weeks by now, but Kavar Cleanslate recently updated and expanded his collection of men’s hairstyles at Exile.  (The update includes all-new hair textures–more on that later.)  His new styles are available in 30 different shades, packaged in packs of six.  Four of the packs contain natural shades: Blacks, Blondes, Browns and Reds.  (All styles are shown here in Scarlet, one of the Reds.)  The fifth pack is appropriately called Wild Cards as it contains a selection of brighter, less natural colors.  The sixth pack is K’s Choice, and it includes a selection of five from Kavar’s naturals and one of the wilder shades.

alex_left.jpgFor the most part, I’m going to let the pictures do the talking for me here.  First up is “Alex” (also shown above, and in this other view), a medium-length style with slightly longer fringed strands in front.  This style has a lush, healthy feel, and the kind of effortlessly casual look that can result only from the careful attentions of a professional stylist.  I only wish my hair would do this in RL.  I like this style a lot.

knight_right.jpgIn addition to offering a wider selection of colors, Kavar’s new hair textures are richer than his old ones, with greater contrast and detail.  “Knight” is an older style that has been remastered with new hair textures, and I think the difference really shows.  Kavar describes this style as “a classic kind of side part…just rough enough to be sexy without being messy.”  I think that description is more than fair enough.

leto_left.jpg“Leto” (more Jared, I suspect, than Atreides) is another mid-length style, cousin or even half-brother to “Alex” above, but fuller on top and with slightly feathered strands framing the face.  This is another of those styles that seem effortless when you see them on red-carpet celebs, but you know that behind the scenes it takes an army of stylists to maintain the perfection.  In SL, all that perfection is just a click away.  It truly is a beautiful thing.

liam_right.jpgHere you see “Liam,” a casual, wavy style.  It’s perhaps not coincidental that I mentioned Armidi’s “Poynter” earlier as “Liam,” although different, has a similar overall feel and could conceivably be the same cut with different styling.  This is high praise–I think “Poynter” is an extraordinarily well executed style, and still one of my favorites, although as I mentioned earlier I do try to give it a break now and then.  “Liam” has wavy strands that swoop gracefully from left to right in front, as well as shorter wisps at the temples for balance.  This style is very nicely done.

varsity_left.jpgKavar describes “Varsity” as “kind of all-around guy hair, casual but still sexy.”  The look does remind me of some guys I knew in college, although the decent sort who would ask to borrow your notes and then actually return them, not the kind who would mercilessly haze incoming fraternity brothers and then cluelessly wonder why they weren’t well liked.  (Come to think of it, I knew some of those guys in college, too.)  This style looks neatly trimmed and carefully controlled with a reasonable minimum of hair product–eco-conscious and green, no doubt.

Color sets as described above are L$250 each, and if you’re crazy in love with a particular style you can pick up the “all or nothing” pack of all 30 colors for L$1000.  Style and color demos are available in the shop.

Check out Kavar’s blog for info on new releases and other updates.

These and other great hairstyles and clothing, for both men and women, are available at Exile (Ivy Falls 133, 130, 27).  Be sure to check near the shop entrance for freebie hairstyle “Rush”, sweater and belted, distressed jeans.  I’m wearing the jeans in the picture up top.
