Gear for Winter at :sey

I’m pretty sure I’ve said before, probably more than once, that I could dress myself every day only and entirely in clothing by risey Arai and be happy. I suppose boredom could be an issue, eventually, in a really long time, but actually that’s difficult for me to imagine. risey’s designs are so consistently interesting, not to mention impeccably executed, that it’s hard not to get lost in admiring details of fabric texture and prim construction. Sometimes I forget that I’m getting dressed for a reason, and friends wonder where I’ve been. Admiring myself in the virtual mirror, that’s where. It’s not my fault, though! Blame risey. I do.
Just in time for the descent of winter, for those of us in the Northern hemisphere anyway (or any snowy sim in SL), risey has created for us some cold-weather gear that you just might not be able to live without. After all, it’s no fun being chilly. Even if you don’t actually, you know, need them to keep yourself warm, the styling is too delicious not to at least take a look.
The BoA jacket comes in two different versions that offer different styling and options. Both come in five colors, both feature insane, dizzyingly good fabric textures, and both are accented with some of the best prim fur I’ve seen. The simpler Style B, shown here in Green, has an interesting crushed-fur/suede-y fabric texture for the outer shell, with an interior lining of contrasting-color flannel. The contrast is really just yummy. The wide, dramatic collar is intricately constructed to look like fur, and the jacket bottom is masterfully sculpted with realistic fall, flare and drape. I’m not sure there’s anybody better than risey at creating sculpted garments that look like they’re really being worn. I love the sculptie pockets, with their decorative and functional bright metal snap on the corduroy-fabric closure. And no jacket like this would be complete without sculpted cuffs, here ribbed and stretchy for a close fit that keeps the chill away. Choose from Black, Blue, Brown, Green and Wine. Style A is a bit showier, with eye-catching sweater-weave fabric texture, fur at the jacket hem as well as collar, and optional chest pockets in addition to the lower ones. Available in Black, Blue, Brown, Purple and Red. L$480 each.
Winter, especially snowy, icy winter, cries out for boots to protect our feet from the elements and keep those toasty warm. risey’s new Layer’s boots have a sturdy shoe section, with chunky, no-nonsense treads to help avoid unfortunate slippage. The uppers are detailed in one of six different fabric textures: Corduroy, Camo, Check, Knit, Snow and Suede.
As always with risey’s designs, it’s the small, even tiny details that fascinate as you look more and more closely. The horn elements on the closures are somewhat unexpected but, somehow, just right. Each pair is scripted for several different color choices in the same fabric as well as for automatic resize; the resizer script can be deleted, once the boots are fitted, to reduce lag. Both light and dark fur trim versions are included with each pair, so you can mix it up to your heart’s content. L$580 a pair.
All available at :sey (GREED 158, 166, 25).
