Freebies from Rich People Stores

Rich Folk Outfit 1Remember me? For the few of you who do.. no I didn’t die. I’ve just been very busy with RL and then “relaxed” a bit with a week of summer vacation. My vacation isn’t quite over yet, but I felt that I had to cover some freebies that might disappear soon. My laptop’s onboard graphics aren’t good enough SL so I snuck onto a friend’s machine to install SL to snap a few pics for this post. Thus, this post is brought to you by my friend with no desktop password :P

Anyway, a long time ago I said that I couldn’t buy fancy clothes cuz I’m poor. Well, now a good number of those rich stores have freebies all in one spot: KMADD Enterprise. KMADD had a lot of gifts out from their opening, which disappeared a lil while back, before I could cover them (I hadn’t started blogging when they disappeared). Its not all bad though, because they replaced them with different gifts from a handful of the KMADD stores, including Tonic, Tango NY, Endeavor, Indigo, Redgrave, Mechanism, Mhaijik Things, SF Design, and of course MADesigns.

Mechanism Tee and Colby HairKobe Flatley, of Mechanism, has recently been quite generous to the masses. At the opening of his store in KMADD City, he offered a large pack of shirts, sweaters, and jackets that I unfortunately couldn’t cover in time. Hopefully, with the new asides posts stuff like that won’t happen as much. He’s currently got a set of two tees in the gift box at KMADD Enterprise, with another two different tees in his mainstore at Pull d’Vagin . He’s also dropped a pair of boxers through his subscribomatic group, but SL was being unfriendly to me that weekend and I was never able to get em.

On my head I’ve got the new Colby style in jet black from Philotic Energy. I believe its one of her older styles refit with her new hair textures. The hair is available in five different color packs, each 1L, which means you can get all possible colors of this style for just 5L. I assume she’s chosen this style as a color demo for guys, but it is definitely a nice style that is able to stand on its own.

MADesigns jeans and KK Outfitters ChucksI paired the shirt with a pair of jeans from MADesigns. Their giftbox is full of all sorts of things, ranging from facelights and poses to jeans and tshirts. The jeans are a bit on the tight side for my tastes, but they are modifiable so loosening the pant legs is easy enough to do. Most of the clothes in the pack would work best in clubs because they seem a bit over exposed for normal outdoor lighting, covered with random splotches of white all over. I’ll save your minds from a friend’s interpretation.. but suffice to say that whenever I see someone wear the shirt she referenced I want to grab a bottle of brain bleach.

My feet are snuggly fit into black high tops from KK Outfitters. Arycon Fasching has decided to drop the price of his black high tops, white low tops, and brown flippers to only 1L for a while. Honestly, I’m a bit torn over this price reduction. My black high tops were my first “real” shoe purchase in SL. I couldn’t decide between the blue and black ones for the longest time, didn’t have enough for both, and finally ended up going with black. Now I wish I went with the blue so I’d have both :P That said, I do love my chucks dearly and was quite happy to find them on sale, which will make them more accessible to everyone.

Not Dead Outfit 2To the right I’m wearing the green sweater with gray scarf that was in the Regrave giftbag at KMADD Enterprise. Like most Redgrave items, it is clearly photosourced. Personally, I’m not a big fan of photosourced clothes. That said, tastes do vary, and clothing from Redgrave is definitely high quality. I actually do like the sweater part of the item quite a bit. In fact, there’s another sweater in the bag which I actually liked even more but I (sadly) couldn’t find a good pair of free pants to wear with it. My only complaint with this sweater is the scarf. A side effect of photosourcing is that items with depth end up looking smooshed back against the rest of the item, and the scarf here an unfortunate victim of that. I’d have preferred to see the sweater and scarf on two different layers or had the scarf made from a prim. All in all, I still like this sweater and the way it complements these pants.

Regrave Sweater, Truth Hair, and SF Design PantsThe pants come from the SF Design bag, also at KMADD. The SF Design bag has a full outfit, including shirts, pants, and shoes. The shirt is a simple black shirt layer shirt with a logo on the back. The good side effect of the shirt is that this pair of pants is full height. That means I can wear a jacket layer layer over it and wear any other shirt layer tee underneath without worrying whether my belly button is showing.

As for hair, I decided to go with the Kensei style from Truth. This single shade (Nutmeg) was actually a group gift a long time ago. However, Truth is now offering the style as a fatpack all weekend for just 1L, for the duration of his 50% off sale. The bracelet on my wrist is from Redgrave and was also in the giftbag. Its very big right out of the box but I was able to shrink it even smaller than my wrist with ease, so fitting should not be a worry.

Rich Folk Outfit 3Most of my final outfit doesn’t come from KMADD Enterprise but instead from the Block, another well known spot to shop for male clothing. Freebies and dollarbies from many of the stores there have been collected into a small spot called “The Loot”. My shirt, jeans, and boots are all available at the Loot, along with a jacket from Gearshift, an outfit from FORM, and various other tees, including the Renegade ones from my very first post.

The jacket I’m wearing, the “Knight” hoodie, is a group gift from Gearshift. Its actually quite flexible, with the option of wearing the hood up or back and the option of wearing the sleeves rolled up or down. Various parts of jacket feature scripted resize, which is quite helpful when you’re afraid of messing up resizing yourself. While the jacket does feature a flexi tail, the collar piece is independent of the tail and thus the jacket can be fix to just about any shape with ease. Get it quick since the Linden Overlords have decided to keep archived notices for only 15 days now.

DMC jeans and Electro Kitty BootsUnder the jacket I’m wearing the Civvies free tee, which is available in both tucked (shirt+underwear) and untucked (jacket) forms. This proves quite handy with the low-rise jeans I’m wearing from DMC. The other shirts at the Loot, from other stores, do not have an underwear option, unfortunately. However, they all work just fine by themselves on the jacket layer and the Block Party ones do have a provided shirt layer option, which works with full height pants such as the jeans from Arai or the SF Design pants I was wearing before.

I must say I’m really happy about the boots from Electro Kitty. Reason why is that guys get the short end of the stick when it comes to free shoes. We’ve got some older shoe designs from Free Dove and Gnubie, but not much else. The various shoes I cycle through in my posts tend to be limited time deals, restricted to residents under 30 days old or available during a hunt or sale and now only available at full price. Boots are even rarer, so I’m very happy that we finally have a free pair to throw on.

Gearshift Hoodie, Civvies Shirt, Indigo Shades, and Tami McCoy hairFinally, last, but not least, I return to my head once again. On my nose are Stunna shades from Indigo which are available as part of a 1L giftbox at KMADD Enterprise. My hair is the Careless style from Tami McCoy, in Midnight. Tami offers vouchers so that newbies under 30 days old can get one free style from her. I happened to like this style so I grabbed it way back when.

Phew… I still have more but I’d rather not shove too much down your throats at once. Also, my fingers are tired and my friend was getting suspicious when his computer was making funny photo shutter noises. Now back to my vacation :P

Great post. It’s always hard to find decent free men’s clothes on SL. Oh, and TRUTH has 2 fat packs of hair for men available for 1L each! Great hair for a great price.
