Emery Emerges

I am unsure how he found me? But, clothing designer SerJordan Bonetto and owner of Men’s and Women’s clothing store Emery, contacted me this week about the possibility of writing an article for the blog. Being a polite person and always looking for the hot new item, I quickly finished what I was doing and rezzed. I was immediately blown away by the fantastic sense of style his men’s department exhibits. The best RL comparison to make would be a merger of the Gap and Urban Outfitters. The eclectic mix of merchandise ranges from the funky and nostalgic to the fashion essentials Du Jour. If you need to put together a hip and unique wardrobe for a low price Emery should be in your bag of tricks.
I asked SerJordan to define Emery’s image. “If i had to choose an image, I think I would get Debbie Harry, Morrissey, Nicole Richie, Pete Wentz, and Jared Leto and take a picture of them all together after one long night…”
My favorite piece in the collection is the Rare Love grey cardigan with white t-shirt and 3 ties, only 150 ld. It portrays the image of a preppy college graduate who is really pissed he only received a job offer from his fourth choice business firm. On this piece, six unfastened buttons trail down the wool cardigan with red vertical stripes. A bleached white t-shirt and your choice of tie are displayed on the under level. I prefer the diagonally striped grey two tone tie. However, all Emery’s ties are thicker and more masculine then the silky thin ties that frolic a summer party scene.
Don’t worry if you would rather wear a different style shirt under the cardigan. Emery also has its share of Graphic Tees for 50-60 ld. From the Black Live Your Dream logo to their purple Beer Holder T-Shirt there is no shortage of T’s to communicate your hip/young urban angst.
To accompany these tops, I had to purchase both pairs of his jeans for 100 ld each. I could tell from the display photo’s they were high quality and nicely fit. I wasn’t wrong.
Jeans are a hard find in Second Life. I don’t know why, but few do them right and Emery is definitely in that club.
SerJordan believes the clothing that makes the difference in second life has more work put into it. “The smallest details, the new and exclusive designs, the realistic textures all have good drawing inside of them. This distinguishes it among the others.”
I am excited to see what the future holds for Emery and during my interview with SerJordan he mentioned he has a few products getting ready to be released. I can’t wait for the follow up.

First time I ran into Emery it was in a mini store in SL Argentina I think. At that time somebody, I can’t remember who, was having a new male clothing designer contest. I almost IM-ed serjordan about it, but then held back and forgot about it. (gj ADD) The next time checking out his store came to mind I found that he had a much larger store than that mini plot I randomly came across. He’s got some good stuff for sure.
