Dress Shirts at Connors

HREE WORDS about ConnorsDress Shirts, gentle reader: Consider the Fatpack.

I mean, just look at the fabric of Dress Shirt in Navy. The pattern of light and shade is beautiful in itself, but where there is light, you can almost see each thread in the weave. And the jewel-like depth of the colour blue is nothing short of delicious.

It’s summer here in Europe, so the shirt being so unbuttoned isn’t worrying me. But don’t let the irony pass you by. This is a dress shirt, but made to be worn in the most comfortable and casual way.

Now prepare yourself for a surprise and the reason for my advice about the fatpack.

Connors artist Salah Axel has outdone herself with these shirts. Although Navy is beautiful, the other six colours are not merely the navy model tinted different colours. Each of these Dress Shirts has been individually designed, with the single unbuttoned shirt template only as a base.

Click the photo to expand it, and look at the difference! Dress Shirt in white is simple and innocent (and embarrassingly in need of ironing; forgive me). The fabric is beautifully simple; the detail of navy unnecessary.

But now, look closely at the red version. Ms Axel has used very different fabrics for different panels of the garment! One side is matte and calm while the yoke and other side smoulders with satiny volcanic red. And the green is, if anything, more remarkable. The two different shades are daringly inharmonious and the shirt is not divided into left and right, but up and down with inner and outer sleeves in contrasting forest and moss.

The brown and violet versions are perhaps the most similar, with a contrast fabric in quiet plaid at the yoke, collar, cuffs and trim by the button holes. The black version is a single fabric, with the texture perhaps even more pronounced than the navy version we started with. But the ever-artful Ms Axel has added the subtle delight of stitching with a sky blue thread!

In sum, Dress Shirt is available in 7 versions: navy, white, red, green, brown, violet and black. It comes in a folder with the garments available on undershirt, underpants, shirt and jacket layers in two versions, one to wear with prim sleeves and one without. All the garments are no modify, no transfer. There are also prim pieces: the sleeves, also no mod, no trans; and the collar, which, curiously, seems to have different permissions in different colours of the shirt but usually no transfer at least.

Gentle reader, each colour of Dress Shirt is L$280, but you can get all seven colours for less than the price of five. The fatpack is L$1250.

You’ll find the Connors main shop in a sim called LOVE Its II, for some reason.
