It’s imposible for me to think of Hugh Hefner any more without being reminded of Johnny Drama getting himself thrown out of the Playboy Mansion. It’s a priceless moment of television history. Why are the most breathlessly hysterical moments in “Entourage” almost always the result of something Johnny did that was incredibly, moronically stupid? (Brooke Shields: “He. Is. Hard.” I rest my case.) Johnny gives Lucy Ricardo a run for her money.
When I saw what a sincere tribute Shai’s new Hefner Robe and Pajama sets are to Hef himself, I immediately made a quick call to inquire about a photo shoot in The Grotto. Alas–in addition to being a very busy man, he’s notoriously flaky about getting back to people, at least in my experience. I’m sure it was just a problem with timing. He’ll almost certainly call me back, full of apologies, the instant I publish this–my life tends to work like that. Rest assured that Shai’s luxurious loungewear will work its magic in any intimate setting, including your own private boudoir. (more…)

Although Christmas Day was fair and mild (if blustery) where I live in Los Angeles, since then it’s been just plain cold and windy. If this keeps up, this might be the first year in a long time that the weather is actively unpleasant for the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. (The standing joke is that the parade commissioner must long ago have made a deal with the devil for good parade weather every year. Don’t believe the clear, sunny skies you see when you watch the parade on television–they’re the work of Satan! Every other day of winter is ugly and cold.) These classic “long johns” by Ichibod Etchegaray are just the thing for cold winter nights, and I’m thinking seriously about investing in some for my RL self…especially if I can find some that look like these. Meditations in Midnight.
Breathe, chill, relax, switch to decaf…(ignore that last one O_x)…
Even in Second Life, a body can get a little stressed out. Between lag, hardware issues, script bugs, animation quirks, and other grid gremlins, even a saint could get a complex. Hence the above reminder. Much like RL, I find myself needing the occasional prompt (ok—a large thermonuclear device detonated on my head) to focus on what’s really important.
What does this little jaunt through the slightly sleep deprived corriders of my pixelated brain have to do with fashion, one might inquire. Just this…when I take the time to make myself comfortable in SL, like RL, I find myself encouraged to relax. It’s odd I realize but somehow it works. All right, I admit, I’m probably the only av that changes into pjs before returning my consciousness to RL (yeah Ryan, I’m nucking futz but you knew that already) but it is part of my personality. I know, I know–you sleep in shorts and a T-shirt, or boxers, or nothing, or whatever you were wearing when you crashed. You are a Real Man. You haven’t owned pajamas since you were eight. I know. Whatever. But come on, these are fun! And anyway, what do you want to be wearing when the cleaning lady arrives? These new men’s pajama sets from Bailey Mackenzie of Here Comes Trouble include plaid pajama bottoms, a coordinating tank top (because, after all, we are Real Men–no matching pajama tops for Real Men), prim slippers, flexi ties for the bottoms, and a coordinating long-sleeved flexi top that looks like it’s tied around your waist. All attachment pieces are moddable so you can adjust for the best fit. In this pic, I’m wearing all the pieces, which is probably overkill, but that way you can see what they all look like. 
Available in blue (pictured), grey and green at Here Comes Trouble (Troubled City 10, 42, 25). Each set is L$250. For the Real Man who is especially secure in his masculinity, also available is a set of unisex bunny pajamas (in orange only) that includes, instead of a tank top, a bunny-print tee and the always classic bunny slippers. The bunny PJs set is priced at just L$200.
