So, the Discord Nightmare City sim is amazingly awesome. First off, its just got awesome atmosphere — divided into smaller streets and sections each with its own feel and type of product. I will admit, though, it is a little bit tough to move around since there is no flying and no teleporting. Second — the prices are rather low. The most expensive items I saw were AOs and extremely prim-heavy outfits, including typing animations, at 250L. And third (and definitely most important) the content is just frickin’ awesome.
Before I prattle on about the owner and his stuff, let me get my announcement out of the way. Starting, well, since the first of the month there’s a hunt/prize/whatever ya wanna call it at the sim. Currently, there are two outfits (one for a guy, and one for a girl) scattered throughout the sim as 12 heart shaped boxes. These boxes are tough to find. Which is why you have a lot of time to find em. Six boxes are parts for the guys, and six boxes are parts for the girls. The six parts for the guys include jacket, pants, prim skirt, left sleeve, right sleeve, and collar/tie. All together, they form the sei-sou outfit (in hana orange) that I’m wearing in the picture. Hunts liked these are planned as part of the future of the sim, so there will always be somethin goin on. (more…)

Gonna make this short and sweet. There’s a hunt going on at the Haute Couture sim until 8 am 5 pm SLT tomorrow. There’s one gift for guys at the Chez store there, the charcoal pinstripe suit. Mr. Jacobus reviewed this suit last year. Its double-breasted and its a pinstripe suit. I like that. a lot. And its layered with separate jacket, tie, and shirt layers for flexibility with a wide variety of other shirts and ties. I haven’t shown them, but the shirt comes with prim cuffs for wear without the jacket. They’re a bit big but can be modified to size.
Also, I’m wearing free hair and eyes from UncleWeb, following a tip from Creamy on Free*style. My only beef with these eyes is that they have reddening (like real eyes) near the edges, and it makes those disaffected, aloof “model shots” where you look off to the side look rather ugly. The hair only comes in specific colors, though I was decently successful at tinting the browns into reds and darker browns. Also, I was unable to the find the first style of freebie hair (I found 2, and am wearing 3, and 4 is for women). If anyone sees the first style, tell me. I’ll give you a donut.
Finally, I decided to let Mike Oxlong wear his original skin, the LF0y male skin from Eloh Eliot, that Creamy packages with the shape at Free*style HQ. LF0y has a fancy manicure and pedicure going on due to its heritage as a female skin. If you want to fix it, just head over to Eloh’s blog and download the textures yourself. A bit of time in photoshop and you can fix em

After a tip from Immortal Wingtips, I took a trip over to Filigreemotion.. In short there are now less than 4 hours left in the hunt and it has both hair AND shoes for guys. And its only 15 eggs — should really only take an hour at longest.
In the picture we’ve got:
- Lip Piercing Steve — egg #2
- Co-Sneakers male (Plaid Red) — egg #4
- Torture Me! Set for men — egg #6
- Chris hair (brown) — egg #13
- Bluegray eyes — egg #15
Other items include the Spaghetti Collar for me in egg #9 (shown in both of the next two hair pictures), Low Shoes “Sirius” (Choco) in egg #10, Aaron Hair (Black&White pack) in egg #11, and Billie (Favorites color pack) in egg #14.

To sum this post up in a few words, the Retrology Hunt was very awesome. Mad props go to Jhuzen Ketsugo for setting it up AND for putting out so many male gifts. For those of you who haven’t visited, the hunt ends today so hurry yourselves over there. The eggs are small and not the easiest to find, but they’re totally worth the effort. And yes, I know I’m lame because I took so long telling y’all about it, and I am sorry about that.
To the right is one of the gifts from Thimbles Emporium, the E Street Hoodie in Bobby Blue Green. Thimbles offered (I believe) a single male egg, or at least I only found one. My hint is to look up :P. The egg also had a Jim Jones cardigan sweater in cranberry Kool-aid and a “das Plaidinator” flannel shirt. Besides having quirky and fun names these items are quite well done, featuring impressive texture work for their modest price (75L normally). (more…)

There are a ton of Easter Hunts going on. Next time, please just make one huge one that’s like 500 eggs and a week long — this was a serious of case too much to do and too little time. Anyway, I did manage to check out the so-called Grid Wide Egg Hunt and as far as I can tell after 28 eggs there were only two male-specific offerings. Sure, there were some poses and some furniture but most of it was for the ladies.
While I’d normally not complain, I’d have to say that’s not cool at all. Throw us a bone here.. even some crappy “I’m doing this hunt so my girlfriend won’t kill me” tshirt will do (though if I get 50 of these next hunt I’ll be sad too). I understand these are free and they’re gifts so we shouldn’t complain, but only 2 out of about 25 places acknowledge that men exist? (more…)

This Saturday, July 28, marks the conclusion of SL Relay For Life 2007! The final event will be a round-the-clock walkathon held on specially designated areas of the grid, designed and built up by RFL teams from all over. You are invited to visit the Relay sims this weekend to show your support for those who are living with cancer as well as those who are working toward a cure. A variety of events are scheduled, from the opening ceremony at 2pm SLT on Saturday, to themed laps around the Relay track throughout the day and night, to fireworks displays across 32 sims, to the formal closing ceremony. The Shopaholics team’s Gypsy carnival-themed build is at RelayForLife28 80, 81, 25, so click to TP directly and look around for the big tent! In the Credit Where Credit Is Due Department, the beautiful build is by the fabulous CJ Carnot. Others I’ve seen at work are Shai Delacroix, Grazia Horwitz, Nicky Ree and Tigerlily Koi–troublemakers, every one of them. I hope I haven’t left anyone out!

I hear from Posy that Block Party 5 will be held this Saturday, 12pm - 3pm SLT, at The Block. The semi-occasional Block Parties are inworld-famous for their wild and crazy decadence and debauchery, so you don’t want to miss this one! They’ve got a whole sim to crash around in now, so the damage is likely to be severe. Your roster of hosts will include (but will not be limited to) the usual suspects you see in the stunning mug-shots at left. Limited edition, Block Party only designs will be available, tunes will be played (Posy says, “Donovan is DJing, and that’s always a treat!”) and, rumor has it, some great freebies may be grabbed. If the stars are in my favor, there’ll be drinking as well. Tell all your friends!
Festivities and carnage will commence promptly at noon SLT this Saturday at The Block (The Block 139, 133, 23).
