New: Shaggy hairstyle @ Zero Style

euphoria.jpgShame on me–it’s been a while since I visited Zero Style, and when I decided to make a quick visit last night I found that not only is there a new main shop I’ve never seen, it’s in the Zero Style sim.  Hair designer Rei Gully has clearly been not only busy but successful, which is great to see.  Rei’s new style “Euphoria”is a confidently executed style that’s casual and slightly shaggy.

euphoria_left.jpg“Euphoria” stands in fairly sharp contrast to another of Rei’s styles that I really like, “BRP.”  While “BRP” is much more formally structured and stylized (”not a hair out of place” indeed), “Euphoria” makes use of more naturalistic hair colors and textures and isn’t afraid to look casually mussed.  The turned-up ends of the long hair in back seem particularly realistic, and the single out-of-control strand up top makes me smile.  This is yet another style I wish my hair would imitate more closely in real life.  The one improvement I might wish for would be the inclusion of a few flexi strands here and there, to add some life, but that’s just me. New: Anime-style hair @ Zero Style

brp_full.jpgI don’t know what it is–it’s like I can’t get enough hair lately.  My latest craze is this anime-influenced style called “BRP,” designed by Rei Gully of Zero Style.  This style isn’t flexi, but it really doesn’t need to be.  When have you ever seen an anime guy’s hair move, anyway?  Come to think of it, the frame rate in lower-budget anime productions is probably about the same as the frame rate at my favorite dance club when it’s busy.  ;)  This hair is perhaps stylized to a slightly higher degree than I usually wear, but it’s not so stylized that it’s unrealistic; there are enough spikey strands to make for a full look.  I love the high lift in the front–it’s very Duran Duran and reminds me of the Eighties, which on and off these days I miss with a vengeance.  Nostalgia is a great and terrible thing.  “BRP” is perfect for that Disco or Eighties theme party you’ve got coming up…and you know you do.
