The last few days, I’ve been hoping on and off (more on than off) that the “unseasonably warm” temperatures in my RL home city (Los Angeles) will return quickly to milder and more usual weather. Please, God, let the meteorologists be meaningfully right, just for once. I know it will be 110 Fahrenheit degrees plus in September, but right now it is quite frankly too damn early in the season for this nonsense. (more…)

TheZoo features what look to be Army Surplus outfits created by Froddo Beck. The one that first caught my eye is called ‘Sub.’ The texture is more photo than hand-drawn. It’s got some nice detail in the buttons, straps and loops and, in person, a surprisingly convincing rubbery look to it. What really got my attention, though is the prim collar. Rather than the usual section of a tube, this one has a sort of reverse curve at one end, matching the way that the jacket’s neck opening is upright on one side and flopping down on the other. Very clever. It’s also got some nice details on it… the outside surface has some metal loops and a string that fits through it to draw it closed. (more…)
