So, this will be a little different. I thought it might be both fun and challenging to feature some skins that might not be designs I would choose for myself, at least for everday wear, yet are still interesting and well made. This is more of a feature (or collection of features) than a formal review, so I won’t be going into quite as much detail as I usually try to do when I actually review a skin. But I will tell you what I think and hopefully show you enough in pictures that you can decide if you want to drop by any shops to try on some demos. Which of course you should alway do before buying a skin, no matter how great you may think it looks in the ads or on anyone else, including me. But I hardly need mention that for your benefit, experienced and discerning shopper that you are.

See its my rezzday on Monday and I had this great and (at least in my head) funny plan to make a post with this title and end up featuring pic of the default male and Ruth. I was then gonna go through all of male freebie outfits as if they were a normal review and then put together a few of them with other freebies to show they actually weren’t that bad.
But, it wasn’t meant to be. The picture that took 15 seconds in Photoshop to make (that is hidden after the cut) wasn’t so funny anymore. Why? Because the Linden Overlords decided to actually put some designer clothes in everyone’s inventory. (more…)

Following some constructive and pointed feedback from our valued readers the format of this segment as been slightly adjusted. You are really making me work for this. But I enjoy a good challenge. Items have been arranged in categories and descriptions have been made more concise (3 to 5 short sentences each). Due to time and resource constraints designer-created images have been used in the product highlights. If there are any further comments you may have on the changes please feel free to post.
Is it any wonder that this was also a week that was rife with male fashion content? We’ve got a fairly diverse round-up with amongst the categories in addition to two sales. And of course I felt obligated to write about the quality products I saw and/or tried on.

What hath Catero wrought?! I wanted to start this segment as a means to briefly sum up seven days worth of men’s style news while still fulfilling the commitments of the real world and maintaining some level of fun in Second Life. There were tons of stuff that warranted coverage this week! Some designers have kept me busy with multiple product releases and the skin market has been in overdrive, not to mention the opening of Hair Fair ‘07.
I highly suggest that you surf the waves of lag and visit Hair Fair. Several stylists (old and new) have some interesting styles for their male customers and its a great opportunity to see where in-world hair trends are heading. Did you know that the AVEDA institute established its presence in SL this week (check the details on the ETD blog)?

Something new from Kaejo DaSilva of [Renegade], these Stitches Street Shoes are just out and ready for your casual road-trippin’ enjoyment. Sporting a detailed canvas texture, high-contrast white stitching and laces, and bright white rubber toes and soles, these are a whole lot like the ones you had when you were a kid. You probably wore them when you played Kick-the-Can, when you rode your bike, when you were skateboarding. Maybe you even grabbed your Mom’s bottle of Clorox and a rag every once in a while to touch up the toes, so they’d stay nice and bright. I know I did. (more…)

Kaejo DaSilva continues to add to his growing collection of V-neck shirts at [Renegade] Clothing. I’m sharing just a couple of my recent favorites here, but you should drop by the store and check them all out for yourself, since you may like others even better! Here I’m lounging in “Radioactive,” which features the immediately recognizable symbol of nuclear danger on an eye-popping green background that will definitely stand out in the crowd. I so love Kaejo’s cloth texture, with its realistic folds and wrinkles that give such an authentic feel. The nicely done V-neck looks comfortably casual and gives you a little breathing room. (more…)

The Block in Endicott has taken SL mens fashion by storm. So many hot designers hold up shop there that I could probably never blog from any other place again and still not have the time to blog everything that I like. The latest designer with a blast of hawt releases is Kaejo DaSilva of [Renegade].
It has not been to long ago when the selection of mens fashion in SL was so scarce that designers did not have to worry about how well the clothing was crafted to be successful. All that has changed and it has become a lot harder to burst on the scene and become an instant force in the mens fashion world. In my opinion, Kaejo DaSilva of [Renegade] is one of those designers! Since his very first release, he has blessed SL with one hawt release after another!
His latest release comes in the form of Petrified Work Boots. If you have read my previous blogs you know that I am in to the beat up and filthy look so I love these boots! You would never be able to tell these Petrified Work Boots is his first release of foot wear. They are perfectly crafted and I love the textures. The look just beat up enough to compliment your grunge wear but not over done, so you can wear them with your casual attire as well.
You have your choice of the black or brown but at the reasonable price of L$249, You will probably want to get them both. While you are there, don’t forget to check out the rest of the line… you will see why I became an instant fan of [Renegade].

Kaejo DaSilva is still rocking with a constant stream of new designs at [Renegade] Clothing. His latest addition is a pair of V-neck shirts with beautiful front artwork and great lines that really show off your physique. Here you see me in the ”Fallen Angel” design, which I think is especially gorgeous but the “Global” design (see the ad artwork below) is great as well.
As usual, Kaejo’s design work is impeccable–the textures are awesome, and the wrinkles and folds really add to the realism. The “West 07″ jeans I’m wearing here are also available at [Renegade] (shown in black, also available in blue). The paint/bleach splatter design has a great, natural look. (more…)

Who says Kaejo DaSilva doesn’t like to dress up and go out? Where did you hear that? I certainly would never say that. Now you can see for yourself–these new dress shirts from [Renegade] Clothing are perfect for either a serious or more casual night out on the town. Throw one of these on and hit your favorite clubs in style!
Kaejo’s signature realistic textures are in full force here–these shirts are sleek and shiny, with folds and wrinkles that show you care enough to have your shirts professionally laundered and pressed, but not so much that you mind rolling around in the back of the limo during the drive to the club. ;) As you can see, the the awesome detailing carries on around to the back! More fab new designs from Kaejo DaSilva, who is on fire lately and putting out some really cool, fun stuff. Here you see me in two different combinations: the Splatter Hit thermal shirt paired with Gray Advocate cargo pants, and the Into the Void thermal paired with Alaska Commando cargos. Of course this is a serving suggestion only–feel free to mix and match on your own. In fact, you can let yourself go crazy, as Kaejo has tons of other great stuff to choose from!
The thermals have a great casual design, with visible stitching and Kaejo’s typically fantastic wrinkles and folds. The sleeves have a layered or patched together look, and the shirts look well loved and comfortably broken in. The fit is close and flattering, perfect for clubbing or hanging with friends. The abstract artwork is unusual and eye-catching, a perfect match for the style of the shirts. A really impressive job all around. (more…)

Designer Kaejo DaSilva put out this week another great entry in his line of funky-casual menswear at [Renegade] Clothing. These new Crew Knit Shirts come in six fantastic natural earthy colors: Brick, Ochre, Olive, Sienna, Stone and Umber (all six colors are pictured at left). They are available in tucked (shirt layer) and untucked (jacket layer) styles for L$49 for single shirts, or in a pack of twelve (all six colors, each in both styles) for L$299. This is almost half off the price of the shirts if purchased individually, so it’s a great bargain! The design on these shirts is simple and clean, with short sleeves that will let everyone know you’ve been working out, great texturing that appears to catch the light, plus wrinkles and folds that look amazingly natural. Since the grid is down at the time of this writing, I was perusing the forums and came across a posting from early this morning which led me to the realization that this designer is new! I traced it back to the first post on October 8th from Kaejo DaSilva.
Unfortunately since the grid is down I can’t check any of it out live. I can tell a lot about a desinger by the quality of their ad posters and these are very well designed, showing a definite design talent. The clothing in the pics look well detailed with shading and natural looking folds and wrinkles. Update: I went a bought a few items and they are indeed well made and look great! (more…)
