This Saturday, July 28, marks the conclusion of SL Relay For Life 2007! The final event will be a round-the-clock walkathon held on specially designated areas of the grid, designed and built up by RFL teams from all over. You are invited to visit the Relay sims this weekend to show your support for those who are living with cancer as well as those who are working toward a cure. A variety of events are scheduled, from the opening ceremony at 2pm SLT on Saturday, to themed laps around the Relay track throughout the day and night, to fireworks displays across 32 sims, to the formal closing ceremony. The Shopaholics team’s Gypsy carnival-themed build is at RelayForLife28 80, 81, 25, so click to TP directly and look around for the big tent! In the Credit Where Credit Is Due Department, the beautiful build is by the fabulous CJ Carnot. Others I’ve seen at work are Shai Delacroix, Grazia Horwitz, Nicky Ree and Tigerlily Koi–troublemakers, every one of them. I hope I haven’t left anyone out!

Every so often, Nicky Ree does a little something for the guys. I’m always glad to when this happens, because it’s always something fun and different. You may remember (or own) her batik beachwear for men (reviewed previously). This time she’s come up with four great men’s sarong sets in different patterns and colors–the perfect antidote to the autumn chill many of us are feeling in the air.
Now, you may not consider yourself the “outfit” type but bear with me. These sets include the sarong (worn on the skirt layer) with prim waistband and coordinating pants, shirt (worn on the jacket layer for length) and swimsuit. All pieces can be mixed and matched without fear of clashing–it’s better than Garanimals! Pop culture warning: you may have to be of a certain age to get that reference.

First off, a thank-you shout out to Sean for turning me on to this great casual beachwear for men at Nicky Ree’s Boutique, at Plush Lambda 152, 21, 22. (The main store in Plush Lambda is pretty large, and men’s items are also available at the smaller store at Dublin 58, 222, 26, which may be easier to shop in.) If you’re looking for something new and fun to wear to that upcoming tiki party, look no further! These color-coordinated Batik-design outfits include a short-sleeved shirt, pants, long swim shorts, and swim trunks. They are available in seven colors (red, purple, blue, brown, grey, blue-grey, and green) for a very reasonable L$200 per set. The design artwork is very nicely done, and all the clothing pieces have a great casual feel. (more…)
