I was pleased the other day to find some new newness for the guys at JetDoll. In fact, I was actually delighted to see what Kity Pidgeon had come up with this time. Kitty’s new men’s shirts bring together three venerable traditions: bowling shirts, safari-inspired animal prints, and pin-up girls. Is this a perfect storm of design elements? Three great tastes that taste great together? Are they so cool they’re hot? So hot they’re cool? You’ll have to judge for yourself, but I think it may just be a little bit of all of the above. Two different styles are available, called Zebra and Leopard for the animal prints used on collar and cuffs. The shirt fabric is deep black in color, but the shading includes subtle highlights that suggest actual contour, definition and sheen without simply making the black lighter and thus…not black. The matching black buttons have a little bit of glossy shine–realistically noticeable but not at all distracting. (more…)

Okay, I must once again confess shame-facedly to the vast array of clutter and disarray that is my inventory. I actually picked up these slick vintage-styled shirts by designer Kitty Pidgeon, um, a few weeks ago and am just now giving them serious attention. I need to be scolded. New at that time, still newish now, these “Pin-Stripe” Men’s Shirts are a ton of retro fun no matter what, where or when.
The fit is tight, the finish is slick and sleek, and the vibe is neon-lit bowling-alley cool. The underlying fabric texture has an interesting brushed look, with deceptively simple edge piping and glossy black buttons. The broad vertical band of color running down the right-hand side features four gorgeously glamorous pinup girls striking classic, sweetly seductive poses…the age of innocence, indeed.
These babies come in five different colors: Blue, Green, Salmon, Tan, and Grey (not shown). Jacket-layer only, for the extra length–who would wear these tucked in? Permissions are No Modify / No Copy / Transfer.
Just L$75 each at at JetDoll (Bangu 125, 59, 21).
