What hath Catero wrought?! I wanted to start this segment as a means to briefly sum up seven days worth of men’s style news while still fulfilling the commitments of the real world and maintaining some level of fun in Second Life. There were tons of stuff that warranted coverage this week! Some designers have kept me busy with multiple product releases and the skin market has been in overdrive, not to mention the opening of Hair Fair ‘07.
I highly suggest that you surf the waves of lag and visit Hair Fair. Several stylists (old and new) have some interesting styles for their male customers and its a great opportunity to see where in-world hair trends are heading. Did you know that the AVEDA institute established its presence in SL this week (check the details on the ETD blog)?

For some of us, Valentine’s Day can be…traumatic. You know who you are. If you’re in that crowd, I want to do something a little different for you here. Here are a few great V-Day ideas I’ve run into recently. Hopefully, some of these will work for you. :) First up, a few things to wear, then on to some gift ideas.
It’s a perennial, really. Every year we see another round of Valentine’s Day-themed boxers for the guys–although I’m sure the girls can wear them too, yeah baby! The catch is finding the good ones among the teeming masses. Designer Ravelynn Templar of Liquid Velvet Studios has released her Silky Whispers boxers in two different designs for Valentine’s Day, “Be Mine” (shown at left) and “Kiss Me,” similar in design but scattered with lipstick kisses instead of red hearts. Perfect for those special moments. Priced at L$95 per pair and available now at Liquid Velvet Studios (Forsaken Enterprises 22, 175, 30). (more…)

If you’re thinking, “Oh, hmm, another hoodie,” I can hardly blame you.? Seems like there have been a lot of jackets covered here lately, and I willingly admit that I’ve featured a fair number of hoodies.? (Call it a soft spot.)? Bailey Mackenzie?has struck gold with this simple, classic design, though, and I can’t not talk about it.? Each hoodie includes a zip-up jacket (worn on the jacket layer for length), prim hood with flexi ties, and optional sleeve extensions (worn on the glove layer).? The design features?racing stripe sleeves,?front patch pockets,?beautiful velour fabric texture, and ribbed cuffs at the bottom him and on the sleeves.? The front zipper makes a deep vee, so you can show off a tee under the jacket or subtly show a little skin, just for fun.? The prim hood did not require any adjustment to look good on my avatar, but of course you can tweak the position on your own avatar if needed.? The hood ties are slightly flexi and bounce a little as you move. (more…)

What’s more fun than new hair? Well, I mean, without getting naked. Here Comes Trouble designer Bailey Mackenzie says that this new style, called “Heartbreaker,” was “inspired by some hot boy’s pic I happened to keep running across in a Google search.”
I have no idea who that might be, but this style kind of reminds me of Milo Ventimiglia in “Heroes.” (I read in an interview that he hates the long bangs he keeps having to brush out of his eyes every time he moves. He says he wants to shave his head, but the producers won’t let him.) My partner took one look and said, “Emo boy.” Long pause. “Not that emo boys aren’t cute.” That felt like too little, too late, but I’m going to let it slide because of my holiday spirit and all.

Here Comes Trouble is sort of like a niece or nephew to me. I have seen it grow from its first outfit almost two years ago, and now it is a permanent fixture of SL Fashion. Just like most designers, I wish Bailey would make more mens stuff but I can not complain because she has kept me looking good more than any other designer in SL. She also understands that just like in RL, most guys are not the best at matching outfits, so she does all the work for you.
Each of these 5 new releases come layered with everything you need to look good - boxers, Jeans, Tee and undershirt. I love everyone of these outfits but I am a big fan of holey jeans so if I have to pick a favorite, it is Muertos (Pictured)

You get everything pictured for the very reasonable price of L$200. I love the way the jeans fit, but they have mod rights in case you want a different fit.

I have to admit that I once tried to make my own hair… I failed miserably but I did at least gain a greater admiration for all the great hair designers out there. This new style at Here Comes Trouble is the latest to join my list of favorite prim Hair. I love the style and it fits perfect. Kai by Bailey Mackenzie (Here Comes Trouble) comes in 39 different colors! With that kind of selection, it would be nearly impossible to not find one that you like. You can buy them individually for L$150 or you can get the fat pack of all color options for just L$2000.

I know, I know–you sleep in shorts and a T-shirt, or boxers, or nothing, or whatever you were wearing when you crashed. You are a Real Man. You haven’t owned pajamas since you were eight. I know. Whatever. But come on, these are fun! And anyway, what do you want to be wearing when the cleaning lady arrives? These new men’s pajama sets from Bailey Mackenzie of Here Comes Trouble include plaid pajama bottoms, a coordinating tank top (because, after all, we are Real Men–no matching pajama tops for Real Men), prim slippers, flexi ties for the bottoms, and a coordinating long-sleeved flexi top that looks like it’s tied around your waist. All attachment pieces are moddable so you can adjust for the best fit. In this pic, I’m wearing all the pieces, which is probably overkill, but that way you can see what they all look like.
Available in blue (pictured), grey and green at Here Comes Trouble (Troubled City 10, 42, 25). Each set is L$250. For the Real Man who is especially secure in his masculinity, also available is a set of unisex bunny pajamas (in orange only) that includes, instead of a tank top, a bunny-print tee and the always classic bunny slippers. The bunny PJs set is priced at just L$200.
