Especially now that I’m no longer in the competition, I figured why not discuss the “freebie” version of my entry to the Muism Contest. The majority of the items will of course come from Muism, but a bunch of others come from other spots.
To figure out what to wear, I decided to go through all the Muism freebies I’d collected over time. My first Muism product I ever tried on was their Xmas gift from last year, a red suit. I don’t get to wear that suit often enough. Next, I put on their racing jacket (which is still available, btw — it was recently added to the archives again). See, I told you it’d be handy in a costume 
.Anyway, I noticed a bit of a common trend — Muism seems to like red in freebies. Perhaps I’m (actually I know I am) taking a bad sample space, but I decided to try on a few other red things. (more…)

I’ve been having some recurring issues with my wrists of a late, so typing has become more of a pain. Therefore, I’ll let the pictures do more talking and minimally explain the relevant information. First off, I’m wearing a free sweater, scarf, and sunglasses from the Rahz II Store. There’s also a free necklace available there too. The store has a 50L sale going on where some of the items (often packs of 2 to 3 shirts) are sold for only 50L. It doesn’t apply to every item in the store though, so keep an eye on prices. The items are mod no copy so pick up a few and tint away. The hair is Sleek in “Faded Chestnut”, available for 1L from ETD. (more…)

Phew.. Easter is over. Should be good till the next giant holiday.. is it Mother’s Day? Anyway, back to business as normal.. or business I forgot about because I was too busy egg hunting.
Adam n Eve recently opened a new boutique at Genesis for a line of high class fancy clothes. In order to celebrate the opening, sachi Vixen decided to put up two freebies — a polka dot dress for the ladies and polka dot shirt for the guys. Now when I saw the shirt the first thing that came to mind was disco. Unfortunately, I’m a bit too young to remember disco, so I decided to inspire myself with the closest thing I do know to ridiculous dancing and outfits — A Night at the Roxbury. More specifically, my speakers were thumping Haddaway for a half hour as I put this outfit together. (more…)

So supposedly the pope says St. Patrick’s Day was the 15th, because of Holy Week. The Dropkick Murphys say its the 17th cuz of their show. So I figured I’d play it safe — wear green and get wasted from the 15th to 17th. Now, sitting on my ass unsure how to get up, I decided to try and remember how I ended up here. I’m wearing the Fleur newbie skin in Buff, available for 1L at GNUbie or for free if you’re under 30 days old. The shirt and pants, which I haven’t changed in three days, are from Stellar Designs, and available as part of the March group gift. The shoes… well shoe.. I don’t know where the other went.. is from Free Dove. I tinted the (surprisingly) modifiable Anjo’s adorables blue camo shoes so that they were green. Socks are from Arai, available in the store as a pack called daily socks. The hair though.. I don’t know what happened. I could have sworn I had Platinum hair when I started drinking Saturday (ETD’s Sleek, $1L) but I guess I decided to tint it at some point. I picked up the hat off a leprechaun at the House of Nyla.. or at least I thought it was a leprechaun.. except they were big, and on a sign. And the tattoos.. well.. those weren’t there Saturday either either.. but I vaguely remember dropping by etchd.. I wonder if lasering off whatever else is on me is gonna be a freebie too…

I take a break for a week and an entire store moves on me. The GNUbie Store decided to up and move from Indigo to Powder Mill. It got a makeover and an upgrade in the process though, so its all good 
. Unfortunately, some of the older stuff from the original store is no longer available.I’m guessing that the designers are no longer active and couldn’t move their things. Luckily, all of my old favorites from Rebel Hope, Bryce Tully, and Torrid Midnight are still there though. The best part is that there are new items and new designers — more fun freebies for everyone!
Both Adam ‘n Eve and Fleur are offering skins in their stalls at 1L apiece, with some of them free if you are under 30 days old. I’m wearing the Fleur Vivant Bronze Newbie skin. A word of warning (though you can’t see it here) is that most of these skins come with a clothing under layer as part of the skin. If I weren’t wearing the long sleeves undershirt, the undershirt from the skin would peek out under the sleeves of the the tee. Another GNUbie veteran, Fallingwater Cellardoor, has decided to add her awesome freebie painter shoes (which were already available at Shiny Things) to the GNUbie collection as well. (more…)

In my last post I featured some of my favorites at Free Dove so in this post I’ll focus on the GNUbie Store. Unlike Free Dove, GNUbie is organized by designer. Each one has a stall, wall, or display and whatever items they have offered are available together. What you find and at what price varies from designer to designer, but everything there is either free or $1L and modifiable.
One of my favorite freebie jeans, especially when I first started, is available on the second floor of GNUbie. There are six different types of Rebelation jeans from Rebel Hope of RH Designs, available in black and blue, with various tattoo-like designs and patterns on them. The textures aren’t flat and dull, but actually look like jeans. The seams though, admittedly, need a more than just a little bit of work. All in all these are a solid set of jeans that go for 0L. Out of the box, I found these jeans are tad bit on the baggy side, so I went and modified them down to a shape I preferred. (more…)
