Jeans: The Right Fit

GRIPP_Jeans___Core_Dirty.jpgI have hinted in previous posts, that for me, it is difficult to find the perfect pair of jeans in Second Life. I am reminded of the times I have gone shopping with my RL wife and she searches through every store in the mall to be defeated in the end. At the end of the day the complaints and tears seem endless. Either the pockets fit funny, they aren’t the right “style” or they make her butt look fat. Until I became Second Life fashion obsessed, I never understood why or what caused her such grief. “Just grab the pair that fits and find your way back to the car.” But it was never that easy. And, for some reason I think God is teaching me a lesson for not showing her patience. In RL I wear a 34-32. In Second Life it takes a lot more effort to find the right fit. Hopefully I can save you time and energy. I will review seven designers and I guarantee that at each location there is a pair you’ll enjoy.

Casual Saturday: Endeavor, Shop Therapy

cadet_blue_belt_full.jpgIt’s not often that I mention jeans and tees here.  I don’t have any particular bias against them, at least I don’t think I do–I like to dress down on the weekends as much as the next guy.  It’s just that there’s so much else going on that wardrobe staples like jeans and tees sort of fade into the background.  I mean, they’ve been done, right?  Why re-invent the wheel?

Maybe because any wardrobe staple or even classic (think James Dean in “Rebel Without a Cause” if you’re not sure that the jeans-and-tee look is iconic) can benefit from a fresh take or new interpretation.  For me, the Washed Look Jeans (L$120) by designer Tsubasa Ferraris of Endeavor are just such a fresh take.  The photoreal textures are clean and clear but don’t just look ironed on, and the button-fly jeans look not just well worn but comfortably broken in, like your favorite jeans in RL.
