Grid Wide Easter Hunt Freebies

There are a ton of Easter Hunts going on. Next time, please just make one huge one that’s like 500 eggs and a week long — this was a serious of case too much to do and too little time. Anyway, I did manage to check out the so-called Grid Wide Egg Hunt and as far as I can tell after 28 eggs there were only two male-specific offerings. Sure, there were some poses and some furniture but most of it was for the ladies.

While I’d normally not complain, I’d have to say that’s not cool at all. Throw us a bone here.. even some crappy “I’m doing this hunt so my girlfriend won’t kill me” tshirt will do (though if I get 50 of these next hunt I’ll be sad too). I understand these are free and they’re gifts so we shouldn’t complain, but only 2 out of about 25 places acknowledge that men exist? (more…)

Today’s forecast: casual, with touches of elegance

The weather where I live in RL has been what might be called “unseasonably warm”–I think it was supposed to be 85F today, and it’s still winter, at least technically, for another couple of weeks.  Just so you’ll know, when I’m dressing more realistically for SL (as opposed to indulging my steampunk fetish or trying out other fantasy wear), I tend to lean toward things that would be appropriate for the current RL season and weather where I am.  Given the recent uptick in temperatures, I was happy to see the new Clash Shorts by serjordan Bonetto of Emery.  These are crisply textured and very casual, with plenty of folds and wrinkles–why iron if you’re just going hiking?  Rolled cuffs add some dimension, and the prim side pockets have interesting tab-and-buckle detailing.  You can get them in four subtle colors: Blue, Brown, Green, and Grey.  Permissions are Modify / No Copy / Transfer.  L$100 a pair at Emery (Quest III 155, 31, 22). Emery Emerges

I am unsure how he found me? But, clothing designer SerJordan Bonetto and owner of Men’s and Women’s clothing store Emery, contacted me this week about the possibility of writing an article for the blog. Being a polite person and always looking for the hot new item, I quickly finished what I was doing and rezzed. I was immediately blown away by the fantastic sense of style his men’s department exhibits. The best RL comparison to make would be a merger of the Gap and Urban Outfitters. The eclectic mix of merchandise ranges from the funky and nostalgic to the fashion essentials Du Jour. If you need to put together a hip and unique wardrobe for a low price Emery should be in your bag of tricks.

I asked SerJordan to define Emery’s image. “If i had to choose an image, I think I would get Debbie Harry, Morrissey, Nicole Richie, Pete Wentz, and Jared Leto and take a picture of them all together after one long night…” (more…)
