The best part of being in contact with other freebie bloggers is that they remind you of items you’ve picked up and then totally forgotten. Half the stuff I’m wearing in this post have been available for a long time and been in my inventory for months, till I was reminded of them by seeing others wear them, mention them, or somehow remind me of them.
Gecko Gorilla, the new resident male freebie hunter at Free*Style, reminded me of my Amsterdam free shirt, the subscribomatic joining gift from Hoorenbeek. He wore the blue shirt so I decided I’d wear the brown shirt. I also seem to have a brown sports jacket from Hoorenbeek which I suspect came from either a sale or the subscribomatic, but I’m honestly not sure. If it was from the subscribomatic, I suspect its long been flushed from history. Either way, clicking on the sign still gets you two free shirts. Poking through the history will most definitely get you some notecards and perhaps a sports jacket. (more…)

What hath Catero wrought?! I wanted to start this segment as a means to briefly sum up seven days worth of men’s style news while still fulfilling the commitments of the real world and maintaining some level of fun in Second Life. There were tons of stuff that warranted coverage this week! Some designers have kept me busy with multiple product releases and the skin market has been in overdrive, not to mention the opening of Hair Fair ‘07.
I highly suggest that you surf the waves of lag and visit Hair Fair. Several stylists (old and new) have some interesting styles for their male customers and its a great opportunity to see where in-world hair trends are heading. Did you know that the AVEDA institute established its presence in SL this week (check the details on the ETD blog)?

OMG! Well I would like to pretend that she finally listened to my constant begging and put her amazing talent to good use, but I got a feeling she made them to wear over her new skins. I do have to say that these tees rawk! When Canimal does something, she usually does it big as you can tell with this release.
She released over 10 brand new Tshirts in a variety of colors and prints. As you would expect from anything made by Canimal these are marvelously crafted and can make even the most noob looking AV look stylish.
These Tees are sold separately for only L$75 each. At that price, it would be nearly impossible to get a bunch… or all of them! I believe my favorite is the record player but I love pretty much everyone of these! All shirts come as a jacket & are modify/transfer!!
Exclusive to her main store & her store at The Block!

I have to admit, I do not do very much begging in my life, mainly I try to make others beg. There is one person out there that I seem to always find myself begging to make more stuff for us poor deprived men of SL. Mens fashion in SL is a splash in the bucket compared to the womens, so I make it a point to do as much begging when I get around Canimal as possible! She really is one of the best designers in all the land with a style all her own. Now She usually just tells me to beat it when I grovel at her feet but I guess maybe I am starting to wear her down because she finally released a new line of mens skins! I remember when she released her first skins and I was amazed how great they made me look. I believe I went a good two months without taking them off but after seeing the newest release in her male skin line, I am really blown out of the water!
First I want to point out some of my favorite parts of the new Core skins. The thing I hate about most about male skins is the designer spends a tremendous amount of effort making ridiculously cut abs and chest and then when it comes to the bottom half of the skin… nothing! Well Canimal’s new Core skins, as you can see in the picture, have very sexy hip definition. It is the little things like that, that separate the good designers from the great designers.
Another thing that I love so much about these skins is its soft realism. The trend in Male skins these days is heading towards being uber realistic. That’s great, but I have enough blemishes in RL, I do not need them on my perfect avatar. Core Skins by Canimal is the best of both worlds! Everything you want out of a realistic skin and nothing that you don’t.
The skins comes in 5 tones - Uberlight, Light, Tan, Ubertan and Dark. So far they come in 5 Facial hair variations but if I suspect that we will eventually start seeing other releases like various make-ups (hint hint). These skins are mod so you can edit your skin tone and comes with two hair variations (hair & bald) Plus free bloodshot eyes. You can buy them separately as a full discounted pack of all variations.
One last note: Canimal’s previous skin line has been slashed in price. So if you know anyone strapped for cash that needs a good skin, this is a perfect opportunity!
