Step into the Wayback Machine @ Artilleri, Akeyo

wayback_artilleri_akeyo.jpgNobody does vintage fashions quite like Antonia Marat.  I think her feel for and expression of the carhop era are second to none.  My only complaint is that she doesn’t spend all of her time designing for men.  You ladies are lucky.  ;)

But I will gladly take home any if not all of Antonia’s menswear and be happy.  Her new tanks for men (L$130 each) come in three styles: Skull Artilleri, Lucky Number 7, and 8Ball Flaming Skull.  The ribbed fabric, double-stitched hems and wrinkle shading are realistic without calling attention to themselves, so the graphic designs can really shine.  Oh, and it certainly doesn’t hurt that subtle pec definition reinforces your masculinity for the poodle-skirt crowd.  These tanks come on jacket, shirt and undershirt layers and include an underwear-layer extension for tucking into low-rise jeans.  Add one of Antonia’s jackets if extra toughness is called for. Designer review: Akeyo

Akeyo_Brown.jpgA few days ago I got myself a freebie Benz from Akeyo, probably the best free car in SL at the moment. A couple hours later I get an IM asking if I was interested in covering her clothing line. I ported in to check out the store and after looking at the items there, of course I was.

The store offers a variety of clothing and accessories, mostly using sculpties for the prim parts. She sticks to using sharp and bright textures and offers her stuff for reasonable (though not excessively cheap) prices.

The items I’m covering in this review are the shoes, hoodies and caps. The shoes and caps are both offered in 2 lines currently. For the shoes that’s slippers and sneakers, for the caps that’s jeep caps and baseball caps.
